I believe between teams and singles Murrell pulled off the comeback 5 times. He first did it to Erwin in NY. Then Bateman twice. Then to Collins and now to Deception. He's 4 for 8 in singles for pulling off a comeback. In teams I think he's 1 for 6. So overall he's 5 for 14. It's just that 4 of those have all happened in the last year lol.

Absolutely incredible to see Deception work together, they are among the greatest teams to ever play, better than some championship teams we have seen. But wow my heart lept when they said Danger Zone!!!! Dan Murell & Ben Bateman vs John Rocha & JTE in a 5 round tournament final is about as good as it gets!! Danger Zone listing all 3 movies for their 5 pointer is impressive as well. Dan Murrell remains perfect in individual questions asked in the 2021 teams season.

@@sivad1025 Collins lost this match for Deception. He was the one who suggested immediately going for multiple choice in that question and Marisol followed that lead. And then Collins was the one who shot down Bourne movies, which didn't give the duo enough time to consider what Bourne movie it could be. So you can either blame Collins for misleading Marisol or point the finger at Marisol for not being more assertive and pushing back quicker, but in either case, Collins was the problem here.

Had they just checked down to multiple choice like Adam wanted they wouldn't have burned a repeat and would have won the match. I'm guessing Collins knew none of the films in the Bourne trilogy were correct because Oscar Isaac isn't in them. Had Marisol spoken up about Scott Glenn they would have gotten there. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Having someone not speak up and enable their teammate to make mistakes is just as problematic to the teammate who makes the mistakes. Hopefully this match will give Marisol the confidence she needs to be a better player and teammate.

What an amazing match and I really appreciate how much emotional investment there was from both sides. Shanon had some straight venom in the post-match interview. I'm not a fan of Korruption but even I can admit that she did an excellent job of making me absolutely love to hate her in that moment (as a great heel should). Had to take a step back and remember the fun of the competition/game when she dared to call Dan Murrell a coward. I'm always going to have respect for Shanon and Mike for being able to push me to the very limits of becoming a rage monster.

Ben Bateman plays the way he plays, we knew what to expect from The Boss. You either love it or hate it, however, It clearly rattled Deception. You can see it in their post-match interview. The Coyote and Lady Justice showed a lot of emotion and their humanity as well as rage towards the Boss. They blew it in round 3, let's be honest, Deception had the game in the bag, almost had the answer, but almost only counts in horse shoes and hand grenades. They blew it, then got upset, took it out on Bateman. Danger Zone Won, Danger Zone advances, Ben and Dan both are great players that trust each other and both contribute to each win. Everything that transpired today really brought me entertainment. Most entertaining match of the season by far!

Best pre match promo of the year by a landslide. Collins' story bit was hillarious. Marisol made me laugh with the dry spell bit. Murrell was awesome and confident. And bateman was his smug ass self. Fantastic work all around and a hell of a match to boot. Man what a freaking well balanced team Danger Zone is. Bateman and Dan showed that they genuinely are able to play off each other during a teams match. They worked themselves through that brutal 5 point directors question and did a fantastic job communicating and keeping track of both their trains of thought, and the strategic elements of the game. They did use movie release dates again, but that speaks more to deception's skill that Danger Zone once again needed to pull their best category to win. Danger Zone and Rushmore is all the hype. Man that's a heartbreaker for Deception. Adam Collins is so great he only misses two questions a match, regardless of format. That said, Deception ran into the great equalizing factor that is round three: it makes where you miss matter a hell of a lot more than how many you miss. No shame in missing a five of that magnitude; that question was extremely tough and they got it all the way down to the correct franchise. Marisol was awesome today too. Her knowledge of classics shone through in a big way; especially with those steals. Deception will be back, stronger than ever for sure.

Since Dan was saying he’ll put Danger Zone’s matches against Rushmore’s Rushmore has yet to have to answer a third round question, but the have gotten 27 and 29 in two rounds. So, they’re averaging 28 points in two rounds. They have spun Action/Adventure and 2000s. Danger Zone have been pushed to their 3 and their 5 in the final round. They scored 28 and 23 in the first 2 rounds of their matches. So, they’re averaging 25.5 in the first two rounds. They have spun Movie Release Dates (which Ben is the self proclaimed master of) in both matches.

That's not a comment on their gameplay, it's a comment on their opponents. Rushmore (Jte inparticular) is playing great, but they're not playing BETTER than DZ, just because Rushmore's opponents have underperformed. So far it's close. The real question is the final round. Anything can happen, and Dan especially has a reputation for being lethal in that round. Even Shannon said so to Collins in their rematch after round 2.....you do not count Dan out until he misses that last question because he is the mf-ing clutch-as-fuck comeback king. His knowledge is BOTH deeper AND broader than most, on a scarily consistent basis, which makes him dangerous when you gotta rely on the harder 3pt and 5pt questions. Ben and Rocha I think are relatively even on that front (hit or miss, really could swing either way) and JTE is an unknown. Let's see.

I don't like this narrative that Marisol is playing right into Ben's mind games. I just think that Marisol has found her drive. This is what I like about korruption they have that underdog vibe and drive that makes them very relatable imo. Especially Marisol. If that is her under his skin, you can argue Dan Murrel got under his skin with the comment about teamwork from Shannon and he referenced chemistry/teamwork a couple of times in that post game interview. This is all just part of the game.

It was an adrenaline rush of being in fight response at the end when Kristian said "And your Winner!!!!!" not a fear response. There's a difference to both. Hell I wasn't even playing in the match and was just watching the match and I was like Kaiser in the post interview walking back and forth during round 3 coz it was that intense and that good. That's how adrenaline rush works. U don't have to be scared for it. The adrenaline just releases from your body even when ur super excited. And Marisol like Dan always says "be careful what u wish for" for a movie release dates match with Bateman. Ur good that's for sure with classics and the other categories but not movie release dates lvl good yet. Even Bateman took years just to get as good as Scott Mantz for that category. That was just 2 questions outta 6.And previously he's gone perfect in all of them. Calm the heck down lmao. Can't wait for the mash potatoes match next :P

For Collins, as good as he is (and honestly he is the second best player in the league), to complain about 5 pointer disparity is a bit disingenuous since I believe this is the third match he's lost because he missed a 5 pointer. I believe that no one can beat Collins in an Iron Man match because of the breadth of his knowledge, but he seems to have a bit of an issue with the deep cut 5 pointer. Sometimes you have to hit a deep cut 5 pointer to win it, regardless of what your opponent did to make you have to answer one, and it seems to be his Achilles heel. His greatest strength is that he usually dominates matches so he doesn't need to go to a 5 pointer, but to be a Dan Murrell level player (and honestly, no one is at this point), he has to consistently hit those.
