As a follow-up comment, and after a little additional research, foam tips are supposed to be better when noise canceling is a high priority in other ear bud products. It is possible that this may be why the foam tips are used over the silicone tips. The downside to foam tips is they will not last as long and get grungy faster and require more frequent cleaning, but may be worth it.

Thank you for your honest opinion! I found it helpful. Im considering purchasing these for my wife and I for hunting and there are tons of "reviews" but nobody gives an honest opinion on how they perform.

Have seen other reviewers state that the foam tips, according to Decibullz, are supposed to reduce the decibels slightly more than the silicone tips. I could not find anything on the web site about this. I am wondering if there is something in the included user manual. I would assume you tried both, but in case you just went with what I found to be more comfortable, you might give the foam tips a try. Might be just enough to eliminate the ringing you got after shooting.
