You can use Basculegion, the one that hits with the amount of energy in your discard. Could work in case you use professor research with a bad energy hand.

Dude! I don't know if you come up with these decks on your own, but you and I have the same thought process with random decks lol. Unfortunately for me I just don't have enough crystals to get cards I need for my deck ideas.

For stage one water pokemon, I'd recommend Palafin, Cetitan (special horn, take reversal energy), hisuian basculegion (upstream spirits) would work but you don't use a lot of energy for it, Azumarill with Slam with reversal energy, frostmoth with blizzard loop and reversal energy (seeing a theme here? lol),

Hisuian Basculegion and winbro (slowbro) are both decent stage 1 water types for zoro box decks. Sometimes running the battle vip fish (Hisuian Basculin) with reversal energy makes for decent inclusions in zoro box as well. I always love putting 2/2/1/1 ralts/kirlia/gardevoir/gallade in almost every rogue deck I build just to add consistency with draw as well as secondary attackers when paired with reversal. Since my rogue decks usually consist of reversal anyways it's extremely surprising how well they synergise in almost all of them. That along with the battle vip fish can make for Hisuian Basculegion being an addition to these decks as well. Ok sorry for the rant, love the content
