Fun fact: In the L-shaped room with tons of Knights and Barons, on Easy, there's a Cyber-Demon -- but he makes the fight easier. Sunlust creators adjusted the difficulty leves in intresting ways. Someone even made a vid about it.

WOO I BEAT SUNLUST!! Just came on here to celebrate cause idk where else to, all my friends play fortnite :/ All thanks to Decino and his playthrough for the many times i used it as a walkthrough. I can't believe i beat it I'm so happy! 10 months ago i was playing through doom 2, with continuous play, mid-fight saves, and a controller (cringe). I switched to kb+m, got better at the game, stopped saving mid-fights, and now after Plutonia, Valiant, Eviternity, and Sunlust i can definitely say Doom 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. Thanks Decino for all you do, without your channel I'd never would've found this amazing game and community!

One thing I forgot to mention, since you never played Valiant - the WAD is divided into five episodes. Each one ends with a story text screen, but those text screens show up only in ZDoom based source ports and Eternity engine. In PrBoom/GLBoom you just simply die at the end of each episode and then start the next map. Also the episode select screen is available only in ZDoom based source ports and Enternity engine.

I've finished this map yesterday, and now I can proudly say that I've beaten Sunlust on HMP :). Thank you very much for your playthroughs (both yours and Coincident's), I learnt quite a lot watching these, and I think that I became a better Doom player as a result (today I played map 18 again, the first straight up slaughter map in Sunlust, and I hadn't as much trouble beating it as the first time that I played it. And from a pistol start, no less). I can totally relate to your joy as the final elevator was lowering, as I was also ecstatic that I had beaten such a hard wad. And my left arm hurted like hell, with all the strafing and such (I can also totally relate to your panic at 39:30, the difference being that I was reciting the whole book of swearing, insults and bad words that we chileans have. And they are quite a lot :p). So thank you, I'm glad to have found your channel, and I'm quite enjoying the new Saturn X videos.

This map is incredible. The graphics, the resurrecting demons, the slaughter areas, the weird secrets and crushers ... and that final area - wow. And your demon-killing skill is phenomenal. It's a joy to watch you blast through this and see all the tricks on how to beat it. I know a lot of work goes into each playthrough. I could not last 5 minutes on this map. You are able to dodge fireballs and shoot with a dexterity I can only envy. Your anxiety, fear, and then exhalation at triumph after so hard a slog. The viewer shares in your emotions throughout. Seeing you beat hard levels is just great fun.

God Machine was more than I ever imagined it to be. What a haunting, beautiful level. The creepy revive mechanics, the droning background music, the dark, yellow-lit halls of a monolithic computer, and all topped off with that map title: GOD MACHINE. Difficulty aside, this may be the best map I've ever seen.

Congrats @decino for this 100% UV in this doom Sunlustwad. I never played this wad (i played doom a long time ago when plutonia and tnt and others were almost the most difficult) I maybe have to try and play many wad that i already see that are really good, challenges the players and are fun. This wad is really insane after watching your 32 level videos. The difficult spikes, every fight and arena and situation and how elaborate you how to surpass every situation and doing it without saves, demostrates how skilled you are and how much practice did you need to do this. And this God Machine is in another tier in difficult alongside Maelstrom, it is like these 2 maps is in another level of challenge. Nicely done and i will continue watching your play, and i really like the dedication you put in every run and the patience do you have in doing this content and your form of playing the games i really like. And i know that feels that leaves you when you see a item or switch to be a trap haha i still have it everytime.

decino, your content has inspired me to get into custom DOOM 2 WADS. I'm starting with Eviternity and trying for UVMax single segment/pistol start. I've been using IDCLEV to reset my inventory between levels, but is there a more efficient way to do it (such as a launch parameter)? Also, is there a good guide/FAQ to help with troubleshooting PrBoom+ settings? I'm getting some minor visual glitches in Eviternity, such as flickering torches. Your content and your skill is marvelous to behold, keep up the great work man!

There is,you can even record demos on different levels you warped to! Make a shortcut to glboom and add after the directory/glboom.exe -iwad doom2.wad -file eviternity.wad -complevel 11 -skill x -warp y. You could also add -record demoname to the parameters

In PrBoom+ there's a hotkey to restart the current level, I think it's the Home key by default.

Also, try using glboom as opposed to prboom plus to solve the gfx glitch. If that doesnt help, maybe download a different version from the sourceforge page

Smack the home key. Crispy also has that, and the latest version also resets the demo if you're recording

I don't think there was any doubt Decino could actually beat this wad. The skill level was always there. It's the patience that really shone here though. Any mad lad that can replay a level from pistol start over 50 times deserves the win.

Decino, I have watched the whole way through. I don't normally comment on videos, but this playthrough has been an absolutely mad ride of insane concepts and brutal difficulty. I am in awe of your skill and perseverance to get through such an incredible challenge. It was at the point where you were breaking your normal calmness and almost losing it where I knew I had to comment. The sheer cliff you were about to reach the very top of was so tantalizingly close that even you had to get excited. And if Decino is excited and anxious that really is something special. Good work.

Seriously now, I'm amazed at how you can persist through dying 57 times on a map without giving up. Meanwhile I don't even have the sense of commitment to 100% Doom 1.
