Deck Build Battle of Pelennor Fields | Lord of the Rings LCG

To defeat this epic quest one must build a deck worthy of Middle Earth itself. There are so many options it can be overwhelming. I break down my thought process in this video and will publish the play through on Monday.

Wow, just seeing the thought process of the deck building displayed in this way and your process to make it thematic just really hit home the genius of this game. Some great deck building from you; seeing how the developer's ideas come into play (unfortunate we couldn't get Theoden); and then Seastan's Dragncards as a visual brainstorming tool (on top of being generally amazing). Really looking forward to the quest game play.

My first idea also was tactics Éowyn, but then I saw your list of unique characters from the battle and my jaw dropped to the floor. I am intrigued to see Dunhére's impact on the quest. He is not really one of my favourite heroes.

I laughed when you pointed out that Theoden's ability is on par with a 1-cost attachment. Somehow I always seemed to think it was better than that. Intrigued to see Dunhere included for a quest this challenging. I don't think I've played him since I found the Dunhere+Fastred deck and got bored with it.

Controversial opinion, but it is better than that - O Lorien doesn't let you reduce below one, and you need to go find it, where you can play allies for 0 with Theoden and the effect starts in play. It starting in play I feel is something underrated by most, where you're not reliant on having a good starting hand for it. Still underwhelming for the ability on a 12 threat hero though

So many choices ... I ultimately went Rohan-heavy with Spirit Theoden, Leadership Eomer, and Tactics Eowyn heroes and mostly Rohan allies (with a splash of Gandalf, who died in the retreat from Osgiliath). But I did forget to add a Merry ally!

Would you consider for this quest only having a multiplayer approach? 2 handed, Rohan and Gondor, or even 3 with a Grey Company deck? Would make an epic quest even more epic and time consuming, but thematically excellent

Only? I think it can be done thematically and fun either way, but multiplayer would allow you to do a lot more. But my goodness that would be a lot to keep track of.

Too bad Haldir died at Helm's Deep! I had fun trying to guess the heroes. I thought maybe Spirit Beregond for about 30 seconds.
