This is beautiful! I have a genuine question as I know nothing about construction: could you paint everything before assembling it? I thought that might be easier and save time, but I've never done something like this before. Thanks in advance to whoever answers!

Hi, would you be so kind to tell me if that was 8x8x10 you used, and for the deck frame, was that 2x8x10 ? Did you used bolts to secure the 8x8 to the frame or what did you used for fasteners ? Thanks a lot!

Any type of tie down method for the posts?

You didnt need to put the post in cement? You just screwed them to the floor frame?

Great work!! Are you thinking to add corner braces for it to not wobble and be even more stronger ?
@moxeyusa2 жыл бұрын
I had thought about it during construction, but the reality was that it was so heavy and strong as it was, it didn't seem to need it. There is absolutely no wobble in the frame at all. I have pushed and pulled in all directions against the top frame and I just couldn't move it. If it ever develops a little wobble, it would certainly be easy enough to corner brace it at some later point.

How did you secure the columns in the ground ? I couldn’t tell.
@moxeyusa3 жыл бұрын
I didn't really. The weight is tremendous and is backed by the house. It's open and not very susceptible to high winds (already been through many). Any tornado or hurricane strong enough to move it would be knocking down the house long before that.
@dougs32742 жыл бұрын
Are they resting on anything? Are they just lag screwed on through the rims?
@danielvaduva9165 Жыл бұрын
Understandable about the weight but how will be always leveled if not fixed with cement the corner fenceposts . I hope I made the question clear enough.

Sorry, there is not. Although I had a general idea of the overall size I wanted, it was all done out of my head and on the fly. I spent about $2,700 in the summer of 2020.

So you just left the black weed mat exposed and didn't at least cover it with stones? That would be the polish on this Also, the hanging seat looks out of place not painted, and it could do with a proper table and chairs. This looks half-finsihed to me.
@moxeyusa2 жыл бұрын
Black weed mat was covered with rock/gravel l along the edges and much of the center. If you look under there now it is covered with leaves and debris. Bench swing was stained. Didn’t want permanent table and chairs. We sometimes move table and chairs out there depending upon the occasion.
