Deck Tech: Ezio Auditore de Firenze 5 Color Loses the Game Assassin Tribal EDH / Commander

Make people lose the game by swinging out out with an Ezio and paying 5 mana. New Collab with Assassin's Creed into Magic: the Gathering to support assassin tribal and a ton of new historic cards to the format!

You can also add Agathas Soul cauldron to help pay for wubrg. Also you can cheat in jegantha for BB to help pay wubrg

Yeah but jegantha isn’t an assassin. If anything, prismatic omen or chromatic lantern is better for 5c

I feel like the 5 colour ability is a gimmick not really intended to be used, its just so you can put all the assassin cards in the deck

Yeah that’s the main goal is just assassins cost 2. The lose the game is funny if it can happen and since he is always on the field anyway, I decided putting a few cards like spike would take it worth it

@@poppmagic depends on how you play. I have a built pretty solid Ezio deck with Sorin in it and the deck is 5C. The only issue is you need to play very aggressively so you can take advantage of the free running. My deck in particular can ramp in various ways (mana rocks, a few green fetch cards, and even some added cards that can basically turn my assassins into mana dorks). Ezio’s freerunning is absolutely busted but I also felt it necessary to utilize his 5C identity to make the deck fun.

i think vraska, unseen would work pretty well with instakill assassins and getting kill triggers like off of xira. plus killing anything that tries to hit her is just petty and i love it.

New to mtg, but just curious why make the deck WUBRG if we’re not utilizing the commanders gimmick, could you not build a better assassins deck with less colors and better mana base?

Always a million reasons to add or cut colors. I’m fine with the 5C due to green adding ramp and color fixing even though there aren’t any green assassins in the deck. It also helps off er support in other places like assassins trophy. The deck doesn’t NOT want to use the ability, but really it just isn’t as reliable. The other thing is ezio is really there to make assassins cost BB. That’s why I wanted to make a list for him, but since he has the added benefit of making someone lose, might as well 😂

I threw Thraximundar in my list because it's funny getting him down super early feels brutal.

I love thraximumar, but just 7 mana is so steep. You can free run him. I just realize that now. Im so stupid 😂

Bless your heart fellow Thraxx lover. I built a Thraxx Commander deck quite some time ago, but because of his heavy cost, unless I pulled Rooftop Storm early, the deck took forever, and the second I got in trigger range of Thraxx I became ArchEnemy. So the deck slowly turned into a red/black/blue recursion deck that just happened to have Thraxx. Now he can shine again in the 99 of an Ezio deck. Been waiting the past couple weeks for my cards to arrive and got them today. Thraxx rise up!

@MrWynterpaladin my buddy used to have a Thrax commander deck when the precon came out but came to those struggles of him being uncastable and changed it to Nekusar

@@poppmagic Hah! Nekusar is my current Commander of that deck! I picked up the Secret Lair when a friend gave me the "heavy metal" version of Thraxx, and was trying to theme the deck around "rock and roll" cards. But yeah, I think it's time. Cracked my AC cards today and got my Ezio.

But the question is how are you able to put 5 different color if this Ezio is the commander and he is only black?

So in commander, the color identity of the deck depends on the colors of the card. So Ezio is 1B, BUT, since he has the WUBRG in his text box, he can use all colors. A good example is Morophon that just costs 7 generic. You can see other examples of Codie, Tazri, Kenrith, Najeela, etc

He is great. I thought about it but it’s just a lot of mana with a rough cost in a 5c deck. It is a very readable line, which is a little sus

@@poppmagic It is very readable but when you also throw in Vraska the Unseen’s Ult in addition to Ezio, Ramses, and Tree of Perdition; there’s too many for a pod essentially cornering them

@XxSTEVE559xX Vraska ult is not an easy feat to pull off. The others are funny one and dones but ultimately, the 5c lose is unreliable, so we just need old fashion assassin tribal to really win
