Best episode so far. I especially like how they used half of it to explain what happened in the previous episode... including the flashback again. It's so difficult to keep track of the plot sometimes, but thanks to this, I am fairly certain I know what's going on.

cascadeSC You're right. I totally trusted Lanoi, but I can't believe he would say those things about Decker, a true American patriot. Decker keeps saying Lanoi is the only person he can trust on the island, but I'm just not so sure anymore. Is Decker wrong, or is this just one big ruse by Decker, all the while knowing Lanoi can't actually be trusted?

I'm starting to feel that Lanoi may secretly be the leader of the terrorist group. (Or at the very least be connected to them in some way) He seems nervous and was even testing Kingtons loyalty to Decker. I hope I'm wrong but I have a bad feeling about Lanoi. Lets just hope the nervousness coming from Lanoi is him just worrying about Deckers safety because as we all know Decker is Americas last and only hope.

Traditionally only one track of music is played over a sequence in film. Here, Heidecker does something new with the art form and layers two different tracks over one another creating an enticing experience that put me not just on the edge of my seat, but on the floor. Genius and truly revolutionary filmmaking.
@FlyingOverTr0ut10 жыл бұрын
Having the opening theme music playing underneath the somber, patriotic music and then the music used when Decker goes to Central Park to stop Abdul from blowing it up is a really layered, textured decision when it comes to sound in movies. Great decision, it really throws the audience off balance from their expectations and walks a very fine line that only someone who understands movies as well as T. Heidecker can do and get away with. I'm going to give this one five bags and two editions of Garage Band.

Honestly, Gregg has been a breakout star in this one, but James Mane has constructed the character of Lanoi with such nuance and sensitivity... His eyes, his body language, his tone of voice, all show a profoundly conflicted man, divided by what he thinks is a bigger ideal and his lifelong friendship with Jack Decker. He wonders: am i doing the right thing? Is this the sacrifice i have to make? Will i bear the consequences? Man, really touching performance... Id love to see Gregg win the Oscar, but James takes this one.

Wow. Simply wow. There's been some great episodes of DECKER this season, but I have to say, this one takes the cake (or coconut LOL!) To continue from a flashback in the last episode, and remind all of us loyal DECKER viewers of how great an American he truly is was simply inspiring. I'll admit, I had my doubts about DECKER given some of his behaviour this season, but being reminded of that truly Patriotic and magnificent display from last season brought me back around. DECKER truly makes me hope that one day, a simple Canadian like me can move to a country as great and peaceful as the USA! I wonder what movies Kington has in his collection! Too bad they can't just watch season 1 of DECKER for training!

Rather than resting on its laurels, DECKER has really pushed itself this season, with exotic locations-and a creative direction to match. Tim Heidecker’s highly naturalistic acting style somehow manages to make his line delivery seem almost completely unrehearsed, grounding the performance and allowing the audience to identify with even a super-operative like Jack Decker. Don’t be surprised if the next generation of Hollywood movies follow suit.
@TheFirefox2 жыл бұрын
Employing the technique of a flashback in a flashback was clever. Clearly a nod to Inception and the works of Christopher Nolan. You can see the influence of Gregg Turkington’s film buffery all over the writing.

***** But Estevez = Davidson? Your theory makes no sense.
@AlexVanDover10 жыл бұрын
Harry Abernathy ah, but think about this. Estevez has 7 letters, Davidson has 8. 7+8=15. The 15th letter of the alphabet is O. Remove the O in Davidson, it is now Davidsn. 7 letters. Remove the 7th letter of Estevez, it is now Esteve. Esteve is a Catalan international pharmaceutical company headquartered in Barcelona. Barcelona is the setting of the 2004 film "The Machinist", which, according to the On Cinema App, got 5 bags of popcorn. Christian Bale, who starred in " The Machinist", interviewed Charlie Sheen, who is Joe Estevez's nephew. Therefore, Estevez DOES in fact = Davidson. Only a true CIAgent top code breaker can find these truths.
