19:26 It’s more likely that he was based off of George Foreman. George in his prime was a heavy hitter whose fights rarely went past 2 rounds but as Muhammad Ali proved when he beat him once you got him into late rounds he faded. Clubber in this movie was the exact same way.

You're crazy, dude... Rocky III is, by far, the best of the Rocky movies - in sheer entertainment value. The first two certainly tugged at your heart strings, but the pacing was nursing home level. If Rocky I and II were a romantic, fine dining experience, Rocky III is like a gourmet buffet. There is so much good food there, that you can't try everything in the same visit. You have to keep coming back. That's the best kind of movie you can hope for, if entertainment value is a priority.

That was actually going to be the plot of "Rocky Balboa" until Stallone's backers nixed it (actually, Rocky would have done a "Real Steel" thing and fought a robot, which was an actual news item at the time because boxing was getting a bad rep over the number of boxers suffering head injuries; of course, comparisons to "The Terminator" would have been inevitable even if the plot was inspired by a short story by Philip K. Dick). Stallone, undeterred, tried to pitch the "aliens" concept for "Rambo 5," but, finally realizing how stupid the idea sounded, ended the Rambo series after the fourth film, instead concentrating on the good ol' days with "The Expendables." By the way, Stallone will finally get his wish of fighting aliens as he is cast in "The Guardians of the Galaxy" sequel set for 2017 (and, no, "Demolition Man" and "Death Race 2000" don't count because they're all humans).

Rocky III is favorite movie out of all of the Rocky's!!! Mr.T's role as Clubber Lang was brilliantly done, especially as his first acting debute!!! If you notice in the film, he isn't wearing that much jewelry but still has the feathered earring!!! I love the design he wore on his beard to go with his Mandika warrior hairstyle, a style he never wore on the A-Team which was so unique I've even copied it a few times!!! I also like the his wardrobe in the film with black tuxedo and the cowboy jack with the black turtleneck shirt. I also notice unlike the other Rocky films was the fact there was no press conference where both of these champs are in the some room discussion the fist for the 1st and 2nd matches with a bunch of reporters. I'm not sure how necessary that would have been yet I think it that would have made expanded the role of Clubber Lang a little bit more. At time I ask myself there were ever a remake of that particular sequel with Clubber Lang as not such a nicer character but still vicious in the ring minus the Mohawk, would a baldhead, dreads, or cornrows suit the character's image!

Side note to this movie. Terry Bollea (Hulk Hogan) actually was terminated from the the wwf from then owner Vince McMahon Sr. as he cited that, "he didn't want his wrestlers to be movie stars." Of course, this didn't last as Vince jr (current owner) re-hired Hogan.

Not sure why you chose to omit the fact that the importance of the "charity fight" was to show Mick showing early heart problems. And then chose to pretend that his heart problem wasn't a thing when Lang shoved him against the stairs. And THEN chose to omit the part where during Rocky's fight, they clearly show Mick having said heart attack and so by the time the fight is over, he's on his death bed. Probably why I didn't laugh when you tried to make fun of Rocky's crying scene. In the entirely out of context and edited to hell version you represented, sure that would seem funny. To those who have seen the movie and understand the emotional impact of that scene, it's not. It's actually a very well set up and executed emotional scene. It might not be Stallone's best acting scene (that goes to his mental break down in First Blood) but it's Stallone playing Rocky as someone who just lost a father figure and is SO overly upset by his passing that he's weeping openly and incoherently. I love your videos man, but sometimes you'll get and cover things like this in great detail...and other times you'll completely miss the point or choose to omit things for a comedic set up. Which personally rubs me the wrong way. Not trying to be a jerk, just giving you my honest opinion. As I said, I'm a big fan of your other videos and I think you'd want to hear the positives AND negatives from your viewers

To me, all the stuff early in the movie (the commercials, Rocky talk good, Hulk Hogan) etc... are all just there to show the audience that Rocky has turned into a soft cartoon character. That's he's lost his edge and he's not capable of putting up a fight against a legitimate threat like Lang. Yeah, those scenes don't set up anything specific down the road but they are meant to give an overall image of Rocky as a kid friendly cartoon character at this stage in his life.
