16:36 the Predator already saw their penchant for violence when they destroyed the enemy camp, so even Dutch's team did lose their weapons, it would still hunt them.
@tristanwilliams41805 жыл бұрын
that's true actually
@Jirodyne4 жыл бұрын
That's actually false. A hunt is only good if the hunted can fight back. It's not honorable prey, if the prey can't eve fight against you. It's the only reason why at the end he went hand to hand against Arnold to keep it fair, as Arnold had no weapon, and the hunt wasn't fair. Which is why I hate the first of the deaths, cause while he did have a weapon on him, he wasn't actually a threat and was distracted and was a simple easy kill. There was no honor in it. I wanted to say the same with the second to last kill, who was wounded heavily, but he was still armed and willing to aim and shoot if needed so was still an actual threat. If you go by the logic that it doesn't matter if they lost the weapons or not, then why didn't the predator kill the girl who was also a soldier and knew how to use a weapon and did so and probably killed people before Dutch's team got there.
@vnom844 жыл бұрын
I’d also argue that a Predator would take some issue with worthy prey trying to exploit their honor code and would probably kill them for even trying to take advantage of it.
@wiseguy014 жыл бұрын
@@Jirodyne Predators have clear guidelines for hunting, it has little to do with fairness as even armed humans are at a severe disadvantage and more to do with their own sense of honor. As long as they are not violating the honor code, you are fair game. Under the Honor Code, they can't hunt children, pregnant women, mothers, the sick, cripples, etc... unless in self defense, but the kill will still be considered dishonorable. Dutch and his crew fit none of this criteria and are fair game armed or not.

I think the (almost) best part of this movie is Arnolds face in the very last scene in the chopper, he looks so damaged after all that manly man macho bullshit in the start of the movie. It really adds depth to what the character went thru in this movie and how it probably traumatized him in the end, all of his squad is dead and he only survived because he was lucky. Usually these kind of movies would end so that the hero gets the girl and everything is good, not in this movie. This is one of my all time favorite films, even with a ton of flaws. Thanks for the funny review.

If I heard correctly especially in environments like they are in, plus Vietnam and other foliage dense areas- what they did(while maybe a BIT overkill) is a legitimate tactical technique referred to as "Recon by fire", which is basically "We are taking fire, we can't see shit, but have a half decent idea the direction it came from. Fire into that direction until the enemy dies or attempts to flee, then you have a clearer target to fire at".

The gun safety, or lack thereof, is odd given that at least two of the cast are ex military. Richard Chaves was in the army and Jesse Ventura was in the navy. Both served in Vietnam.

"That'll be a waste of a good action set". 😂 O.T. - she takes a rifle butt to her face from Arnold with no blood, broken nose, etc.
