The Londa Tarot is so freaking cool! I love hearing your process around this. Sometimes I have to remind myself that it’s completely ok to have decks in my collection that I don’t use all the time. And it’s ok to let go of decks if it’s not jiving. There must be something in the air, because I’ve been doing this exact process with my own collection. It doesn’t feel forced for the sake of decluttering; it feels natural and cathartic in a way.

Yes definitely! Streamlining, naturally letting things move on and fall away when they're ready instead of throwing the baby out with the bathwater of a larger purge. And also recognizing the ones that are important to us in a more temporally specific way, or still have messages lessons and experiences for us down the road. Reminds me of the Moon's Hermetic title, Ruler of Flux and Reflux. xx

I love Tarot de Carlotydes but also don't reach for it much. I don't really know why! It always reads beautifully for me and I love it. But I'm never like "dang I really gotta grab that one!". Maybe I should try to do some dedicated study with it and see if that changes things. Definitely have a lot of decks I've picked up that I love in theory but don't always hold up in practice, though I've only ever gotten rid of one (Luna Sol, put it in a Little Free Library and hope it found its person!)

The only one of this lot I bought is the Mystical Dreams, and it's on my 'for sale' pile. Too many cards that throw me because they look like they ought to be different cards (that ship would have made a stunning 6 of Swords), plus a dealbreaker in the 8 of Pentacles, which is one of my stalker cards and a card I need to love in a deck. The Tarot of the Hidden Realm I had as a phone app, and I agree: too many faces. Thank you for this video. I find it really useful to see what _doesn't_ work for other people. It helps me decide which decks to buy respectively which decks to persevere with and which to let go.

So many gouges decks!! I’ll be dropping a few for sure in my wish list😊, how ever living in a tiny town with no car an no credit card keeps me in check lol most things mystical in nature gets ran out of town quite quickly by the pitch forks! I just got the Tarot de Carlotydes yesterday and it looks good. Will have to try using it and see if it works. I also got the Modern Nirvana Oracle to use with it. It's an amazing deck.

I like Demeter as 5 of pentacles precisely BECAUSE she’s bigger than just the 5P moment. So it gives you context on the 5P as well…. Gives it more shades of meaning like would are the resources scarce? They are being directed elsewhere… also I can feel the connection between the 5P and the 5C

Thank you, Theia! I can't connect to some of the decks you showed either, and it hurts, but I finally accepted that. The funny thing is I bought some decks (many second hand) just out of curiosity but not feeling that drawn to them that much and they work like magic! That happened with the Zombie Tarot, Dugan's Witches and more recently, the Joie de Vivre. My biggest flops have been The Mary El, The Goliath, and The Tarot of the Abyss (by A. Tourian). I don't flow with them. Which is sad sad sad. That's the reason why I don't risk purchasing the Terra Volatile, it's so precious! but I suspect I am not going to connect to it.😢

I have the same issue with Llewellyn decks. The card stock gets me all worked up. Huge boxes, gorgeous books, wimpy cards.

The Splendor Solis is totally a magpie deck that is a gorgeous and shiny object on my shelves 😅 BUT, it is one of the decks I decided to associate with Hod… so I’ve used it for some readings during the 8-of-Decans to try and get me to some kind of mind space there

The elemental tarot has been on my radar. Right now I’m working with the oracle of the radiant sun and the guidebook a lot lately after it’s been sitting on my shelf for over a year. Really really good!

Oh no! My heart skipped a beat! Hidden Realm is my favorite deck! Funny part is - the deck I bought after Hidden Realm was Shadowscapes. It was shocking to go from closeup faces to tiny little ones I could barely see. Ha

Ooh yeah that would be a pretty abrupt shift! Like all of a sudden everyone is really far away instead of up in your business. Tarot of the Hidden Realm is a really great deck, it's so beautiful but just we just didn't click and that just happens to me sometimes. Dream Keepers tarot did the same thing to me, it was such a gorgeous deck but I just got nothing from it in a reading. So strange! xx

I use the dark goddess tarot only as an oracle, the hint of the tarot as an aspect of the goddess. Now I want to try the bee oracle alone. 😂 And I try to fit in the kings associated with fire in some decks as fire more leaning to spiritual rather than passion/creativity. 🤔

I feel a little bit like I'm workshopping why these ones in particular don't work for me, trying to put a finger on it so I can know in future to avoid the same thing, but it's so tricky because for example I'm really into Tarot Apokalypsis right now and on paper it's the same premise as the Dark Goddess Tarot, with a stack of deities as the majors and a bunch of cultures, but for some reason reads SO much easier. Maybe it's the suit iconography on the minors...but yeah It's just given me so much to think about too! Mind is whirling! xx

Oh and I'll keep you posted on the decks, I'm in Canada so the shipping kinda makes MM deck cost the same as brand new versions of them. It's a bit irritatingly prohibitive depending on where you are.

Do. You read with multiple decks at a time? For me… the decks with big “per card” energy/info would be to draw one maybe two in connection with other more standard decks

The Mystical Dream Tarot writer says that the best way to use her deck is by using personal associations with the symbols and register what feeling it's triggering in you. Also, the way you read them is through dream interpretation. I mean, i talk the big talk, but I also find it hard to use, although amazing. The author even says that the best way to use the deck is without the guidebook since day 1 and only check the guidebook if you do not feel satisfied with your interpretation. The Minor Arcana is only loosely based on RWS with major changes. I think that a better way to convey what the author meant was to add on the guidebook some extra blank lines below each interpretation. It would at least show visual evidence that this is a deck with a very unique system that deals with Janet's life and actual dreamscapes rather than RWS or Thoth or TdMarseille, that way the reader doesn't feel dumb when using the cards.

Thanks! When reading tarot I love using my personal associations for the symbols, it's an essential skill to reading cards. I think for me though with this deck it comes down to it being a divination deck and not remotely a tarot, as it uses the symbols of tarot in a haphazard non-intentional and unstructured way. Like someone took a tarot deck and shook it until all the meaning and symbols on the cards got mixed up. I guess this just makes it impossible for me to read like I would a deck that aligns more accurately with the essential structure of the tarot. It really is so beautiful though and I am so tempted by the depictions of different energies but they just don't happen to land on the correct cards for me. lol xx
