I normally don't have a hard time decluttering, but some of these were tough decissions...
Again, don't take this to heart pls. Some might take this as offending their precious little snowflake children, but honnestly.. it's just a fragrance guys 😅

It's not the Patchouli that bothers, it's the poor mixing and possibly poor ingredients. Many people think they hate Patchouli when they start delving into the world of perfumery ( I went through that phase, too), but when done well, it can be absolutely fabulous and very, very enticing. I went from patch hater to a lover, but I look for perfumes where it dominates and leads, instead of playing last fiddle in the bottom of the pyramid. I enjoyed watching your declutters, and I would have made very similar choices for keep vs let go of. Gifted perfumes are tricky, if we're close I would just tell the person it's not my type and would offer it back to them (as usually people tend to gift what they personally like). Otherwise I would just regift them quickly, it doesn't make sense holding on. Basic "nice" perfumes never grow on me, so it's not likely I will look for them later. Freesia is usually a deal - breaker for me, too.

I thoroughly enjoyed this video. These are so therapeutic for me. I, like you, do not like Patchouli. I love perfume and I have come full circle in some ways. What was once an innocent love when I was younger, became an anxiety inducing effort to keep up with the latest and greatest...which most of the time I just end up not liking many that KZbin raves about. But I had a reality check and my mindset has changed. I have no more time, room or coin for fragrances that I don't deem as loves and do not perform. And I will have more self-control, contentment and discipline when it comes to making fragrance purchases. I just ain't doing it anymore! Thanks for sharing!

I wasn't trying to be morbid, but it was an honest assessment. I immediately began to declutter...I made several of my coworkers very happy and I had new level of peace when I did. Exactly! For some reason, when I do decide to take some time with a fragrance I have doubts with, I 99% declutter them eventually. I'm trying to test more fragrance before buying tho, that should help 😅❤❤

Good for you! I think a lot of us are getting pretty overwhelmed with our collections lately. Since you mention loud projectors are your fav, you may want to sample fiori first...it’s VERY soft for me. Like zero projection. That could be just my experience but thought I’d share. 🥂💐

I have been deliberating on the whole petite robe noire thing for almost a year because of patchouli. I read and read and took the suggestion of fragrantica regarding the "legere hippie chic" version. It was said that licorice and p word were practically nonexistent. I found a steal on a new sealed bottle on eBay , it was 30$ for 1 oz. It's a big ole LOVE for me. It does not last more than a couple hours on skin but better on clothes. I love it so much that it's worth reapplying. Its just a grownup slightly incensed cherry. Nothing headache about it (I usually hate smoke or incense). I feel like a big girl when I wear it. Might be worth sampling for you. No doll head no yuck just balanced light sweet cherry expertly blended with supporting notes. Like an oriental lite for girls who ain't really ready for orientals yet

I felt the exact same way about Olympea. It unfortunately made me feel nauseous, and the salt note was overwhelmingly unpleasant to my nose. I fell hard for the hype. Not the first nor the last time, I am sure ;)

Patchouli is beyond nauseating for me! I'm a patchouli free zone. I can't figure out why they ruin so many otherwise nice scents with it. I can't tell you how many times I've gotten hyped about a fragrance and then looked up the notes...yeah I love that note... Uh huh yeah I love that note and that note oh and THAT ones my favorite and then.. Dun dun dun . ugh. Probably better for my budget though. Lol! Also I find it helpful when women talk about why they don't like one. To me it's all information. I have not bought a lot of blind buys that I might have bought if not for someone's description of it, so its saved me money and disappointment.

FYI, Zara sells pretty quickly on Mercari. I was quite surprised when I put them up, I thought no one would be interested, but all the ones I decluttered, sold within a couple of days at most.

I noticed that with the si fiori dupe you mentioned Neroli is a prominent note, to me neroli makes things smell like bathroom freshener or toilet spray, I’m not a fan of that note is what I have noticed from myself

Agree with you about the patchouli. With my skin's chemistry, it turns medicinal on me and smells like the disinfectant Bactine. Such a shame! I had to return a new bottle of LVEB this week because of that. If it wasn't so dominant, I would have kept it.

First of all don’t ever apologize for fragrances you don’t like and second I just decluttered Reb’l fleur also LOL and I don’t like patchouli.!! The patchouli in flower bomb is a deal breaker for me, I don’t do well with any Jimmy choo fragrances I think Our nose changes the more we smell 🤷‍♀️my collection is up to 30 I’m in shock and need to stop !!!
