I have one adult son and he’s lived on his own since 18 YO…so I am very impressed at how tidy you keep your home with 4 littles! I still declutter daily/weekly. I’ve always been minimalist and tidy bit it stuff has a way of creeping in if you’re not vigilant! I liked your basket idea for limiting vases. 👍🏻

I managed to declutter out kitchen cupboards and tackle the arts and crafts boxes while listening in on this video. I love how often you declutter it always seems more manageable and not so time consuming which is great plus, it then becomes routine and that way it’s easier to keep on top of things. I also love that you recycle and gift things you no longer need or use to others, it’s inspired me to let go of a few items I’ve been holding on to.

The only reason we don't end up recycling stuff like that in the states (from a personal perspective) is that the recycling companies won't accept them! So unfortunate.

My husband used to work for the trash company and they told the drivers to just put the recycling with the trash! So it all would go in the landfill anyway.

I know you've said in multiple decluttering videos that you have a lot of stuff because it is being sent to you as PR and you don't use them but you can cancel these packages or go through offers before they are sent to you instead of accepting everything that is sent to you and then having to declutter.

The very nature of decluttering is constant. Especially with four children, I imagine there is constantly "stuff" flowing into Sarah's life for her to manage and edit. I love your videos sooo much! When you pulled out vases I knew that was something I could start with. I have several that I never use so they can go away. Yeah, I agree with what you said about recycling. It's very sad that the US has such poor recycling, being that it consumes so much. Where I live here in Wisconsin we can only recycle 1 and 2s. And where I used to live in Michigan, there was NO recycling program.

I basically declutter every week lol. With kids like you said they grow out of things and if yours are crazy like mine lol they break things on a daily basis haha. Just a note about recycling in the USA...Most localities have a recycling program, but it is voluntary. I am blessed to live in a locality that has a recycling program, and I just brought my large bin to the curb for pickup tomorrow morning. That being said, I know where my niece lives in a townhome complex in FL they do not offer recycling. Admittedly, we could and should do better in the USA with recycling!!

Sarah, I have to tell you.... It's not that we don't want to recycle in the US, it's the recycling companies that are failing us. My husband is a diesel mechanic at a garbage company and Waste Management picks up their recycling and takes it to the WM recycling center. However, if WM doesn't like what is in the load, like garbage mixed in, they reject it. Instead of sorting out, the whole load goes straight to the landfill. So wasteful.
