Re-Pressing Tips: Make sure you're using the highest percentage of Isopropyl Alcohol. I use 91% (8% water) vs the 70% (30% water). Alcohol will completely evaporate so using the higher percentage leaves less water behind to affect the broken shades formula. Only add a little at a time. I use a dropper. Over saturating only causes more of a mess & often cracks during the drying process. I do use a paper towel between the product & pressing device to soak up extra alcohol & water. Don't press overly hard. It will compact the formula & make picking it up on a brush harder. I usually press a few times to soak up the majority of liquid utilized. Air dry over night. Repressing this way has always fixed my broken pressed items. When I used 70% alcohol. I had a few issues with matte formulas, not so much with shimmers.

Hi, im sorry but the makeup needs to stay wet for a while otherwise the bacteria doesnt get dissolved in the acohol. It should take a few minutes to dry which is why you need a substantial part water in the disinfectant. More is not more.

@@suides4810 I politely disagree on your saturation time-line. Alcohol kills germs through a simple chemical process known as denaturation. Denaturation occurs when alcohol molecules bond with the fat membrane encasing a virus or bacteria cell. As the fat membrane is broken down, the inside of the cell - including all of its critical components - becomes exposed. It starts to dissolve, and the cell quickly dies. What level of % & type of alcohol used depends on what your trying to accomplish. Water has a much longer evaporation rate vs alcohol.; that evaporates quickly. Which is why you want a higher alcohol % for repressing makeup. The higher the % the less water left behind. Water left behind can affect a shadows formula thus its performance (mattes esp). If you're only cleansing a shadow. All you need to do is dampen the top surface of the shadow with minimum 60% alcohol. You do not need to submerge either to kill any germs. Think of hand sanitizers which evaporate quickly. I highly recommend 91% -100% alcohol for any repressing (91% includes 9% water vs 100% alcohol zero water added) . The alcohol doesn't need to sit for hours to be antimicrobial.

I had to buy a bookshelf so I could keep my eyeshadow palettes out from underneath my sink and be actually able to see all my inventory.
