I've watched hundreds of minimalism videos but I've never heard the question "would my life be more difficult if I didn't have this?" I'm headed off to declutter my bedroom with this mentality and will probably end up with an empty room by the end of it LOL

I know this is so random (and late lol) but it's so freaking refreshing to see a normal person's room declutter/minimalism journey! I swear 99% of the people posting decluttering content already have aesthetic/tidy rooms or houses and just makes it feel even more impossible to achieve minimalism the way it's portrayed in social media. For me practically less stuff in my room=easy to clean and no mess, black, white, grey (neutrals in general) clothes = easier to wash, no heels, no uncomfortable clothes =actually me being more confident in what I wear and more comfy…I basically just want to make things easier for myself

Just wanna say that you can potentially alter a piece of clothing by taking it to a tailor, if that helps you wear clothing. You can also take shoes to a cobbler to help them fit better.

The time limit on selling is so great! I have a pile in my room of things for sale and it definetly give me axiety. I probably spend way too much time refreshing listings on poshmark etc. just to end up with a few bucks. Thanks for the inspiration to set a realistic time limit so i can free myself from this stuff !

This week I performed the most successful closet purge ever. I'm so proud. Tomorrow I have to go through my drawers and shoes before my peeps come over to look through the pile. Then off to my favorite charity. Such a great feeling. I legit didn't even have room to put everything away and my side of the closet was a mess. My mind feels better.

for the clothes you're not sure on, stick them in a cardboard box with a date on it, if you don't reach for those clothes by that date, donate it :)

I'd like to share my personal hack, hoping it might help someone else as well. I have a rule that I buy 4 things for every 5 I get rid of (sell / donate / throw out). It works wonders with clothes, accessories and books. However, it might not be for anyone. I'm a strict perfectionist, don't judge me! :)
