I don't think you need to get rid of LE palettes if you like them! I don't have access to many products youtubers use so when I follow tutorials I just try to find similar shades in my collection, and I'm sure people who own those palettes appreciate the tutorials. You could maybe do them as sort of "throwback/older products I still use" video? Also, I just got Naked 2 and would love tutorials from it!

yes! so much this! If I buy a LE palette you get tutorials for a week or two and youtoubers move on to the next release and we never get new looks or see it ever again. we can find dupes if need be.

I completely agree! I almost never have the same shadows used in tutorials so I just work with what I've got. It seems pointless to get rid of really nice products just cause they were LE. Not to sound rude, but why would you even buy so many LE palettes if you know you won't use them long?

I don't think you can't use the limited edition palettes, because some people bought the palettes and would like to see a tutorial with it and even for the ones that don't bought the palettes they can always use a similar color. I really don't care if the palette isn't sold anymore, I see the videos to learn and get inspired 😊

Completely agree with this! I understand wanting to be far to viewers, but on the other hand, you could say the same for how you tubers rave about whatever new palette. We get excited and buy it, then everyone stops talking about it and moves on.

Completely agree! Don't get rid of it because we can't buy it, especially if you still love it! Wear it on non filming days or even better use them for swatch comparisons! "If you missed out on this, it's similar to that" sort of thing. I love new products but if I'm pining for something new that I know I shouldn't get it would be sooo helpful to hear comparisons to products I may already have!

The Gwen Stefani palette is still available on Sephora - I just grabbed one, it's on its way - and a lot of people do own it still so I'd hang onto it and keep using it in tutorials for the next few months at least ~ there's always a similar colour one could use as a substitute at home no matter what the palette :-)

here is my general rule: if I haven't used it,worn it, or wanted it 6 months then IT NEEDS TO GO. that way you pretty much know your not using for either seasons. I use this in my clothing,make up,and general house stuff(I have a horrible tendency to buy stupid kitchen gadgets and not use them -looking at you silly garlic peeler,👀👀) And I have to be HARSH/HONEST with myself about it. Jessica braun(jambeaty83?) is amazing at decluttering. She's super harsh and may help you with her system .

Yes! She should keep those two The Balm palettes. Everytime Hautelook has The Balm on sale, they are on there. So people can still get them there on sale or for full price on their actual website.

Oh, the Nude Dude palette has a shadow that I am obsessed with... I think it's called Flirty? maybe... it's an orchid-y soft purple with gold shimmer in it. Wet'n'wild Petal Pusher (which I think SUCKS... maybe I got a bad one) has a dupe for it but all the goldish/bronze shimmer in it disappears when I use that one and it just looks patchy and chalky.

I do keep some (lorac mega pro for example) but I try to not keep them all especially if they're not unique enough! I get overwhelmed by my collection and there's always more makeup coming out! It's a hard balance :)

Yes! Definately keep the Gwen Stefani palette. Its perfect for people with your skin tone. Also, keep the Stila In The Light palette. I have that palette and I am sure a lot of people that have been collecting makeup for a while probably do too. Its supposed to be one of Stilas best palettes. It has the award winning shade Kitten in it. Don't feel that you have to get rid of your limited edition palettes. Everyone knows they aren't going to be around forever and will understand if you do looks from them once in a while.

I have swatched the Balm palettes and they seem great, but I've not taken the step to purchase them, probably because KZbin had hyped up something else each time I would consider them. Do something like a throwback Thursday or flashback Friday look with older palettes to continue using them. A lot of us will have sold out palettes too and it's always nice to be reminded and inspired to use them again.

Hi! Might I ask for a suggestion? I have the first nude'tude palette (so yes!! please do a video about it!!) and if fits very well with my skin color, however it has few matte eyeshadows and I would like to integrate it with a matte palette.. Do you have any suggestion? In particular if you know about something that is really long lasting.. I know that the Kat von d palette is amazing but unfortunately it is not so easy to find in Italy so as the Lorac ones... Thank you so much for the help :)

Since you like the packaging of different palettes and you would like to collect them, I would give them to a friend, and when he/she used the crap out of it could give you back the empty packaging. That way, you could have the pretty packaging, but the product does not get wasted :) Plus you could have a drawer where all your "collectables" are in it and it could just make you happy to look at it, maybe even take a picture of what the makeup inside looked so that you can remember it afterwards ;), when it has been used up. You could even put the pictur inside the palette. OK, a bit weird, but I love packaging and I often find it so hard to just put it in the trash ;)

I just sold the naked two as I prefer my ombre palette from becca which I reach for me. I have also been selling makeup I just don't reach for. I got given the Naked 2 from a friend and now I want to hang on it to just because I feel like I haven't given it a fair chance and you love it. The too faced neutral palette is so worth the money you will love it the more you use it!

Hayley Davies you are right that some of them are kind of pinky toned, but some have a deep cherry burgundy as well,if that makes sense. Also,a lot of orange tones as well. I would go to sephora or ulta and swatch it if your not sure. The quality is amazing though,kinda powdery, but the pigment and blending is a dream.good luck!

Kudos, Em! I think you did really well. Most people get rid of one or two palettes. I own one OLD Mac palette that has 3 or 4 shadows in it, but that is it. I'm just not a big shadow person.

Emily you can use limited addition products if you like personally I think you should be able to use things you love because if someone wants to recreate a look they can use a similar color, I watch makeup looks for the actual overall look not so much for the product. I'm moving out of state, and I just went through my makeup to get rid of stuff. I really didn't get rid of many palettes, a few of the smaller old urban decay (shattered face I think it was called and the dangerous?). Part of my wanted to get rid of my lorac mega pro palette because the shadows can irritate my eyes, but I love some of the colors too much. Same with the star studded KVD palette. I don't use it often but there are six shadows in there I adore. Palettes were definitely the hardest thing to get rid of

I am bad at getting rid of palettes. I depotted the UD Book of Shadows IV and I still never use it! I also never ever reach for my shadows from The Balm. Yet I can't seem to part with then. I am a collector though so that's my excuse.
