Did the same a couple of years ago with a very old sender that I even did not know the frequency. I found out that it sends on 40,65 MHz in AM, recorded a wav and got stuck by counting the 0's and 1's. My goal was to open the garage door with PiFM. Maybe I'll give it another shot someday.

Thanks for these videos, mate. They have been a great help in my studies and definitely make these concepts come alive in real world applications. I hope you make many more.

Hi everyone, I would like to show the code on an LCD screen or on the "serial monitor" of the data that is received in an RF module, has anyone done something similar? Either with an ARDUINO or with a PIC Thanks in advance.

Great video @CWNE88. But i got one question which software do you use? thank you
@TallPaulTech5 жыл бұрын
That was SDR#. On Linux it's GQRX

@@TallPaulTechThank you for your anwser. I mean the software u used to decode the signal. I have an old vauxhall astra from 1999, i have tried to unlock with a rtl-sdr and RPITX v2 . But i wont unlock so i am curious if maybe my car fob send a rolling code instead of a static code.

How does a rolling code work? I know the code changes every time, but how does the transmitter know what code to change to next time so that it matches the receiver's?
@JanicekTrnecka3 жыл бұрын
@Coal Carter Shortly said, the transmitter generates a new code each time it transmits and it uses secret seed to do so, and also adds some bits like which button was pressed, its own serial number and increment .... the reciever memorizes each code recieved and if already seen it discards it as invalid and already used. If you manage to record the radio packet, its already used and its worthless. The simplest way to circumvent it without cracking the code is to jam the signal to the reciever,and in the meantime record the packet from the keyfob, record also another packet (as the user presses his key again), replay the one recieved and voila... you have another code recorded which can be used. This description is very rough, but for getting the idea it should suffice.
