3 things - 1. There are also EST and Bone conduction drivers 2. There are many BA earphones (not IEMs) like my Sony XBA 3 which can handle lower freqs also with no distortion. 3. Planar magnetics are recommended to be used with a DAC since they need more power due the magnets and stator. Cheers ☺
