I always yeach that the MELODY of the tune gives away a lot of information on how to improvise. Given the simplicity of the melody of "I got Rhythm" the idea of genius simplicity is laid out right before your eyes, eeuuhh, ears.

Thanks, Richie, this is such a valuable lesson. Miles's influence has seeped into my playing so much over the decades, and this transcription really demonstrates how he really thought simply but with such harmonic inventiveness and sophisticated phrasing. ALWAYS learn from Miles!

Great analysis, which explains Miles' playing style very clearly for me, thank you very much. One small note: there is an (insignificant) error in bar 30, can anyone find it?
