Honestly love seeing you decorate even when other rooms aren't done up from moving. We moved almost 2 weeks ago and I put up our christmas tree even though there's still boxes in lots of rooms. Seriously thank you from a mom with 2 littles as well.

Sand them and then stain them the Kona color. I tried to stain over a lighter wood stain that was unsealed and it never turned out until I sanded it all down and started over. Definitely worth it for the warm chocolatey color!!

IKEA has the best throw pillows and covers and they are affordable. They have pillow forms in all sizes, they are feather filled so they keep their shape and last forever. Their covers rotate seasonally so there is always something new. Frosty and Festive ❤

omg 25 minutes of Haley?!?! Best post-finals present EVER. I actually like the way your shelves are now, I hate to say Eran is right but I do think you are overthinking it because they look STUNNING and match so well with the rest of your kitchen! If you make them sandy and lighter, I feel like that would feel too coastal for your vibe. I think for the entryway little area you should DEFINITELY put the painting there, but hang it higher on the wall to kind of balance everything out since the table has a lower profile. Ooooooone more thing I would say is be careful with ikea bookshelves; I put them one one whole wall of my room and they looked fantastic but then I realized I didn't have enough books to fill them. There are many different styles of bookshelves and if you get one that's made for actual books it might look weird with decor items. I'd say alternate between wide bookshelves and thin ones, if that makes sense. Like wide bookshelves for actual books and shorter, longer decor items, and then two or three tall and skinny bookshelves to put tall items like a large vase or something in. It makes it super unique and homey (sorry for the long paragraph 😭)

I am not Jewish, and love red and green together, as I always say, "not just at Christmas." However, I have alwys lived in a part of the U.S. that is dark in the winter, but rainy rather than snowy. (The Pacific Northwest.) So I have always avoided most snow-themed winter decor! We are united in our love of the color green and evergreens for the season, though!😘

Your original stain on the shelves may have had a sealer already mixed into the stain, hence why a new stain won't penetrate. They need to be darker. I would either sand them down to the raw wood and then apply a dark walnut stain. OR, get a dark brown paint and water it down and see what that looks like over the original stain, may be able to bypass the sanding.
