You taught me a few things, I am 58 years old and just learn how to decopage. In the last year, because I had to retire early due to some health issues and Deco page is something I've always wanted to learn how to do and I did not know about using the fanbrush like you did and I think that is an amazing idea. The other thing I noticed that you did is you're very consistent about using nice, but thin layer of mod. Podge, and literally, I'm sure that I'm using too much, especially comparing what I've used to your video. So I am going to do it your way, because I wanna see How it works for me and I've got to try. It looks so relaxing when you were just painting. The thinner layer around the clear glass. It just looked so soothing The other thing that I forgot about, but I did in the beginning do was use the Saran wrap to smooth out the wrinkles, I don't know why I stopped using it. I just realized I hadn't been using it. I have been just lightly using my brush. Actually, I use 2 brushes, I have one that I use to put Decopauge on, and I have another brush that I use. That's I smooth any wrinkles out with. When I am using napkins and there are 3 layers. I have done it both ways. I have taken the 3 layers off and used the very, very fine. Send napkin to decopage and I have also taken two layers off and left one layer on and used it that way to decopauge. I find that it depends on what I am going to Decopauge as to weather, I am going to take all 3 layers off of the napkin or leave one layer on. It is a personal preference, but because I saw you Decopauge on glass, if I was to decopage on glass, if I wanted the sheerest look, then yes, I would take off all 3 layers of a napkin. However, if I wanted a more solid look, then I would leave one layer on the napkin that I was going to use now if I was going to use it for a candle, I would definitely take All three layers of the napkin off and use the sheerest piece to Decopauge with. The very first item I decopauged ever was My daughters antique wicker basket that would have been thrown away if I had not done it? Because the wicker was so soft and it was starting to crack, it desperately needed to be sealed. So I procrastinated for over a month before I did it and watched the video that I ended up watching, I can't remember who it was, but She was doing a wicker basket. I did not know that doing a wicker basket is more of a intermediate Instead of a beginner, I would say, Decopauge any kind of box 1st. Like any kind of box Somebody has sent you in the mail if you have one something that you don't care about as much as you would an antique wicker basket. As an example, i'm laughing at myself. So it turned out really good. I was quite surprised there were a few places that I actually did not like a few pieces that I had added. And so what I decided to do was to continue the pattern right over what I did not like and you couldn't tell at all. Now I did use A chip paintbrush, when I did my base coat instead of a primer, because the white chalk paint is really what I needed? And I needed the chip paintbrush so that that kind of brush with the jagged edges can get in all of those cracks that are in a wicker basket. And I wasn't conservative as far as using the paint, because I needed enough to get in there and fill the cracks literally. Before I did anything with the basket? I did wash it because it was cracking and I watched a video, and uh, someone had said that. If you wash it, it can put some moisture back into the basket. Not only clean it, which it did need a little too because of dust right? So I put it in the shower. And rinsed it off, really good with some really warm water. I mean, literally just, you know, washed it, and then I got some dawn douche soap with add. Soft brush cleaning brush scrubbing brush. But it wasn't the bristles, were softer? That's what I'm trying to say. So that's what I used to clean it with, and that helped a lot, because it didn't feel so stiff. When it dried and it was really clean. And I didn't realize how dusty it was until I washed it in the shower and saw it go down the drain. I was like, wow, okay, this is good. So it worked out really well that way, and then after it dried which it took, I think about 24 hours, maybe a little bit longer. But I also put it, you know, probably 3 feet away from our gas fireplace, and it dried a bit quicker. Which was nice. I didn't dry it too fast and I didn't have it super close to the fire. I had it on a little table away from the fire. A bit, but I could feel the warmth on the basket. That was the point, so it would help it dry. And then the primer that I chose was the white chalk paint and the brand Was? Folk art and it worked great, it really did. So I decided to paint the inside first and then I did the outside. I've done it both ways I tried next time. I tried it, I did the outside first and then the inside. I prefer the inside first and then the outside, because the inside in a lot of areas, many areas The chip paintbrush will push the paint through to the outside. And if there's anything you think would be runny, you can catch it easily. It usually doesn't run, but it might here and there, so you gotta check it. So it was way easier to do it that way. And I didn't have to worry about getting paint on me because I was new at doing this so I really wanted to follow the directions as thoroughly as possible. So I was literally watching the video again as I was doing it, and then I would pause the video has each step was getting done on a wing and a prayer too, right? So it was, uh, actually really fun, and I chose a beautiful rose pattern, soft pinks with a little bit of light Gray kind of throughout It was really pretty, it wasn't real vibrant? It was soft and it turned out. Good. I had to make sure to tear the napkins, so they weren't even like you said. You don't want a perfect square. You want them jagged? So they so it blends and I was using full, well, yeah, full sheets of the napkin because of the basket size. It was like a 20 inches long 13 wide i'm not sure how tall it's pretty tall. It's a good size basket for sure, but I had to make sure that the napkin pieces were torn out by hand jaggedy. Edges, and I had to make sure the roses were going to lineup with the pattern of the napkin. So the roses were in the right order, as far as the pattern went, so be careful and mindful. Wet, when you're doing a wicker basket, if you do 12 make sure whatever you pick for your napkin, that the pattern is consistent and not like upside down because that can so easily happen if you're not really aware and concentrating because I almost did it, and then I caught myself and turned it around in time so thankfully, it didn't happen but it could have very easily. So I have done a couple wicker baskets and a lot of different types of boxes that I store things in And it's really fun, I really enjoy it, and I enjoy coloring, but I love to paint and use the mod podge i like the fabric mod podge. Also, and it works very well with fabric. Certain kinds of fabric There's a lot of products out there as far as glue goes and fixing fabric, so read the. Reviews I always say and watch a few KZbin videos and see what people think. Do your research if you just decide to buy one? It might not be what you want because all glues are not equal.I promise you. I used the E6000 to reattach an antique beautiful rhinestone, back on to a necklace and the glue 8 literally ate through the crystal. I was sick. I felt sick. I couldn't believe it. Everybody has said this is an awesome glue. I had not not seen a review that said This product could eat a rhinestone, and it was a beautiful glass rhinestone, like a null1. And it was a good size one I couldn't believe it, so I never have used that again, what I use for rhinestones, antique suavarski, the really beautiful ones Kramer jewelry say a Stone is loose. Or one is missing, you might wanna add 1 in. And so what I have found, finally, that does work without hurting any rhinestones, is the the Bearly Art Precision Craft Glue, this glue has the most wonderful tips, and it does not hurt Annie. Rhinestone, and it works. It holds them in very well, as long as you let it sit for 24 to 48 hours, it's fine. So that's what I use and that was after that other beautiful rhinestone got destroyed, I just couldn't believe it. I will never use that glue on rhinestones. It works okay on other things, but not on rhinestones. In my opinion. You have no fear, at all about decopauging and I love that about you. You are fearless when it comes to doing this and I think that quality in you ⁷inspires people. It inspired me just the way you would use the product and the way you talked. Was so refreshing Thank you so much for sharing that with me. I will say the saran wrap technique helps so much.

It's water base! You can use hot water with some dawn dish soap let them soak like 15 minutes then rub all the bits out!! Hope this helps
