I"m confuse, you put the ruler down and cut the top paper where you match the pattern and then you pulled a small strip from the bottom. Don't see how you did that.

Is PVA glue the same as Elmers glue bcuz can’t seem to find PVA glue anywhere. Also would I use your same method if I’m trying to do wrapping paper on my ceiling?

Elmers glue is PVA glue it’s just a brand name 😁

Oooh I might try this on the crappy MDF cupboard doors I have in the loft. I want a really statement finish but the wallpapers I've seen are so expensive. I never thought about a good quality wrapping paper instead! They're like wardrobe doors but so boring, I pulled the veneer off them so it was plain MDF with the intention of painting put I'll see whether decoupage might be an option. If not I'm thinking paint and gilding the bottom of the doors so it looks like its growing up from the bottom... decisions decisions 😂 its only taken me 9 years to decorate the loft and make it the nicest room in the house thanks to all that MucknBrass inspiration!

Louise McKelvey We dell all our wallpapers by the metre just in case that helps. But yes using wrapping paper really opens some money saving doors 🙌🏻

Same process but you can apply the paper much quicker to the PVA and it’s a lot easier to do 🤩🙌🏻

Emma Searle It’s much easier with wallpaper. You can apply the wallpaper to the PVA as soon as you apply it. You don’t have to wait for it to dry a bit. Just make sure you use ‘paste the wall’ wallpaper.

My husbands and my taste is every different in deco/furnishing of our new home. I would love a peace or mucknbrass is every room but there is no way I can persuade him even for one item. I am hoping to decoupage worktops without him noticing 😉 ( realistically no chance of that is there)... so if we won the monkey 🐒, there is no way he can say no. I would place it in our hallway.... so that there is no chance of everyone not seeing this BEAUT!

DIY’ing to Upcycle by Hayley Burke You need to match the two pieces together. Do this by overlapping one on top of the other and make sure they line up (the pattern must match up). Then cut and it. Pull the underlying piece away.

I have been looking for a print to upcycle my gran's kidney shaped dresser with and your Chimiracle wrapping paper is perfect for this! i am so excited for it to arrive - this video has helped me realise that i might actually be able to do it ! Love this. I’ve just ordered some chimiracle wrapping paper to upcycle an IKEA malm bedside cabinet - I’m not sure if I should I do the same prep work as for wood since the drawers are probably laminated? What would you do, thanks x

Hi Nadia, So with IKEA you can do two things. First give it a light sand and prep as ive shown in the wrapping paper video or use a primer paint first and then use PVA as usual. HTH 🤩

If i won the monkey I would give it to my daughter who moved into her first flat a week before lockdown. She had no time to go out and choose furniture so she is currently living with one chair and a desk!! Thankfully she managed to buy a bed online or she would be sleeping on the floor. I think the monkey would really cheer her up and also be the very first addition to her new home.

Everything the same except you won’t need to leave the PVA to dry a bit. Just go straight ahead and put the wallpaper on 🤩

I use PVA from tool station but you can use any make as it’s pretty much all the same. Blades I get from Poundland 🤩

I don’t see any reason why they wouldn’t. Just be careful not to use too much PVA so you don’t soak the paper 😁

A decoupage video without the sealing process is like baking a cake without turning on the oven. Gluing thicker paper is the easy part. All hell breaks loose when you try to seal. The clean seam issue is interesting, but so many people are terrible with razor blade cutting.
