This performance outshines even Richter’s and Horowitz’s wonderful performances of this piece, IMO. He creates the illusion of melody floating over clouds-as if time were ever building, but standing still. It’s the superb voicing, and the one continuous arch.

@@yekware Zhukov gets a lot of love for his Scriabin, but yet not enough love. In my opinion, If Neuhaus had been able to pull this off with less mistakes, it would be the best out there kzbin.info/www/bejne/q3TEn5ibj6uDjdE. The stylistic choices and the overall "energy" of the piece are perfect. As it is, I prefer Zhukov's recording because he played it without so many mistakes.
