True, but she also spelled it out last episode how she always lied to herself and now she basically still puts up a front of lying to everyone and being an asshole on purpose... I don't know, for me personally it was very obvious every time she said selfish stuff she was lying. And I don't want them to like Ymir, but at least understand where she's coming from But then I guess here with all the hype and the stress for Eren, and the confusion of not really knowing anything it's kinda hard to focus on her character

@@elenabe4718 Yeah I feel the same way. I don't necessarily need them to like Ymir but I had hoped that they would at least know that she wants the good for Christa. But everyone has different level of EQ/IQ and how they perceive the characters of this show will be very different. Like if they still empathize with Reiner/Bert or not, whether they understand Ymir, whether they understand Eren later on, and also a certain very hated character. (if u know u know) Which is why AoT reactions are so interesting to me because it reflects their character. Also, it is their first anime and they probably never would have thought that a damn cartoon would touch so deep on human emotions/morals/politics/philosophies, and on top of that they have to rack their brains on what is going on because there are so many questions. That is why although I'm disappointed, I would cut them some slack because it is really hard to understand everything on your first watch.

@@J2B0X yeah exactly, not to mention this part when we first get to know Ymir (in season one she had just two scenes, she is a secondary character after all) is full of action so it's understandable that the primary focus is where all this action is going and whether the main characters survive. I know which character you're referring to 😂 Besides, rewatching and knowing everything that happens allowed me to think about other characters motivations and actions in a better way, whereas during the first time watching I had very strong feelings towards them. The first reaction is always more emotional so you tend to side with the characters you get on an instinctive level (which is why I got Ymir and even Annie almost immediately while other characters I didn't really like nor I took time to really understand)

Watching ymir’s backstory always makes me tear up. The first time i watched it i didnt understand a thing, but after rewatching it multiple times, i really feel for her!
