Dee-1 really an OG in BR & New Orleans. Bro one of the few who carried a positive impact and held the city down during Katrina.

Him coming on here without the aimless people in the background rolling up blunts, just shows how much bondage our culture is in with addiction

We need more brothas like him that grew up in the hood and as dangerous as it was surrounded by murder and drugs and losing people close to him he always kept his faith in god and still believes in god and he went to college and is a teacher and mentor and he spits real conscious lyrics about real life and educating young black males and uplifting every black person that lives in the hood or projects to stick together and don’t gang bang or do drugs or smoke weed or cigarettes or drink do something educational and positive in life god has his hand on this man and he is what we need more in the hip hop world positive message filled conscious hip hop is starting to make a come back like it once was in the 80’s and the 90’s 🙏🏾

I know this old but just came across his music and have to say I appreciate him highlighting how his parents drove far to give him a better education. I really did the same and people just see my children breaking cycles of poverty but they don't understand the sacrifices I made for my children to be able to do that. ❤
