Vocalist and visiting artist Dee Dee Bridgewater performs Billie Holiday's "Fine and Mellow" with students studying in the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice. This performance features students Devon Gates on bass, Akili Bradley on trumpet, and Anastassiya Petrova on organ. This concert was produced by Gabrielle Goodman and Phil Lima in the Berklee Voice Department and Artistic Director of the Berklee Institute of Jazz and Gender Justice, Terri Lyne Carrington.

My favorite version of this song was Billie Holiday that was filmed for the TV show done by CBS in the 50s. I think Ben Webster, Lester Young, Vic Dickenson, and Gerry Mulligan were on the recording that day. This one ranks up there with that program. I saw Dee Dee Bridgewater at Rockford College back in the 90s. Her piano player that night on some song that Ella Fitzgerald recorded did this LONG classical intro to the song, he stopped briefly, and then you hear this muffled laugh from Ms. Bridgewater. The people sitting around me fell out of their seats. That whole evening's show was tremendous as was this video. Thank you all.
