Douglas Glenn Colvin, who is more famously known as Dee Dee Ramone, was born on September 18, 1951, and passed away on June 5, 2002. He was a well-known American musician and one of the original members who started the punk rock band called the Ramones. Dee Dee played the bass guitar in the band and was known for writing a lot of their songs. He was very good at creating music and lyrics, making up some of their most famous songs like "53rd & 3rd," "Chinese Rock," "Commando," "Wart Hog," "Rockaway Beach," and "Poison Heart." One of his songs, "Bonzo Goes To Bitburg" (also called "My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down"), was especially successful and won the New York Music Award for the best independent single in 1986. The album that this song was on, called Animal Boy, was also chosen as the best album that year.
