Beautiful stitching, great stitchy kindness, and thank you for sharing you journey with us. Congratulations on the surgery date - ridiculous that there are so many hurdles. Our health “care” system is so broken. And Spring Fling 🎉🎉🎉🎉

Sorry that the paperwork issues and delays added to your stress, but grateful that you have the option to proceed with your surgery. I'm really enjoying Stitch 4 Pride this year, and now that I have seen the sneak peek, can hardly wait for April. All the best to you!

Di-ASS-po-ra 😂 love all of this! Start a Prairie Schooler SAL! I have that garden one that you have and I need an excuse to start it. Love all the Let's Make A Statement pieces. We Go On is sooooo good. I snapped up a paper copy last year and I stitched it up once and am doing a second one. "Fuck it I'll make a pillow" should be charted! We can make it into pillows! Omg yes contact HagstoneArt. That artwork is amazing. Thank you for sharing your story. I'm sorry that all these systems in place make it so hard for you to just be you. We're all working to change that ❤ Happy spring flinging!

I'm so happy for you! I know how you felt because our third child went through similar things and we ended up paying for the surgery. They went to Toronto and paid about 11,000. Worth every penny.

Thanks for another great video! Also, thank you for sharing about transition process. I have several friends who are trans and I have one that is currently transitioning, but asking them about the process seems a bit personal, so I'm really glad you're sharing about yours. I'm so sorry with everything you have gone through. Here in the U.S. we tend to think Canadian healthcare is perfect, because it's single payer, but no system is perfect. Best of luck with your top surgery and I wish you a very speedy recovery.

Loving Stitch4Pride this year. Actually using the teaching to educate my 12 year old daughter on different artists and bring a little LGBTQ+ education into the lessons

How's the election thing going in the UK? I'm running out of people to vote for. Its a trash fire. I'm so excited you got your surgery date! Thank you for sharing your journey and your thoughts. To hear you say you're not gonna make it if you have to wait just broke my heart. Got that pattern release date on trans day of visibility down in my diary so I don't forget I don't want to miss that! Ive highlighted it with two colours of glitter highlighters because I'm ridiculous.

Aaaah so much to unpack from this - having all the feels of a feely creature right now!!! So beyond thrilled for you Dee, just no words for the absolute anger at the system followed by the elation of a plan that is working…. Shoo! What a roller coaster to watch, can only imagine what it was like to live it. My daughter is on a wait list (socialised medicine here too) for gender reassignment surgery and this lovely country of mine does so few every year. It’s a lottery with human lives as the wager. I am hoping that there is a chance to go private or overseas (her first gender affirming surgery took place in Spain) to hasten it but as you say it comes down to the price. Also we had a change of govt late last year and now it’s our version of the Tories who are a bunch of absolute bell ends. Anti trans, anti anything that isn’t white bread. Sigh. Anyway. Yay for your news, this makes me so happy - take care, Nic x

Is it a new thing that we no longer call the PC party "Tories"? I remember (and i'm OBVIOUSLY older than you at 50) that the Progressive Conservative party was referred to as the "Tory" party most of my growing up years (my family was very Liberal so there was a lot of "fuck the Tories" around me growing up in Saskatchewan)... Maybe it is the remnants of the Isles coming through my family. Gotta LOVE socialized health care when you have to jump through a billion hoops to get anything... I don't know anyone who has transitioned in Saskatchewan, but I do know a LOT of those assigned female at birth who wanted a breast REDUCTION due to pain and they had to jump through so many hoops and it took SO many years and that isn't politicized in the same way... probably because of the idea that boobs are to attract male partners so it shouldn't be the person's choice... who knows. But I do know that MEN who have had breasts removed did NOT have the same waiting requirements? I don't really undersstand the way the health care system works
