I just found you today on KZbin. May I say that I’m blown away?!? Your work is stunning! Now I need lots and lots of hours to be mesmerized by your videos. Can I ask if you allow people to use your designs to attempt to make and sell pieces? Obviously very small scale due to the time involved. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!

Hi Lisa and thank you for your sweet comments. I do not mind at all if you sell my design as completed work. I would like to have my name mentioned on any website or written descriptions. I do not allow others to copy my patterns for resale or to be taught unless I agree first. Thank you again, Detrina

I've been watching your tutorials for a couple of days and I appreciate very much all the tips and details that you mention. For a newbie like me it's very precious. I just ordered a few items on amazon to start. I heard you say once that I can use colored , do you think I could use Guttermann sewing thread or it has to be nylon? It's pretty expensive!! :-O I'm happy to see that we can use other stones than cabochons which are limited in selection. Also I was wondering what kind of fabric you use as a met to work on. By the way, I subscribed to your channel. Thanks again. Dominique ;-)

Hello Andre. Thank you for the kind words. I would not recommend regular sewing thread for the following reason. Seed beads are glass and often have sharp edges around and inside the hole of the beads. This will almost always cause fraying and cutting of the thread. You can shop online for the nylon thread and often many bead websites have it on sale. The spools look small but you get much more that you would believe. A bobbin shaped spool with last a very long time. Hope this is helpful to you. Detrina

I have a question, would you also glue down a large jewel even if it was a bead with holes to sew down?
@AlluringBeader2 жыл бұрын
Great question Andrea. With a bead the choice is entirely up to you but it would probably be helpful for beads that are larger and take a while to stitch around. If you decide to use glue be careful not to get any near the holes of the bead. It is very hard to sew through dried glue, if you accidentally block the hole. Have fun with your project.

Hi mam I'm from India..ur videos are very usefull . May I know the name of mat used for beading stones? That white color sheet name please?
@AlluringBeader2 жыл бұрын
Hi in India. This material is called interfacing and can be found in sewing shops online. The one I use here is nice and stiff for such items and handmade purses and things like that. Online there is also an item called Lacie's stiff stuff made for bead embroidery but I find the type in the sewing departments more affordable. Hope this helps you out. Have an great day.

I know this is an older video, but this video is the only other video I can find that involves this specific type of bead embroidery that involves beading around a crystal. I'm desperate, what do I search for? Whenever I search on amazon glass/crystal rhinestone it gives me these either circular tiny rhinestones for nails OR it gives me the most beautiful rhinestones BUT they're the sew on ones that have a metal piece attached to the back of them or there's actual holes in the rhinestone. Whenever I finally find some that are flat back glue on they are acrylic and are very ugly they don't have the flash like the ones that are considered sew on. I was getting so frustrated I was typing out crystal glue on rhinestone emerald flat back, and of course Amazon was just getting more and more confused! I just wanted to find some place to buy them in bulk, if that was possible. Is this strictly a craft store only item (I can't find them in Michaels or Joanns either and those are my only "local" stores) something that hasn't become more mainstream like the sew on rhinestones? Or can you buy the sew on ones with the metal casing on the back and before you use them in whatever project you can just remove the back piece? Oh crap, I'm so sorry this ended up being so long!! lol I'm just absolutely in love with this design of rhinestone with the beading coming up around it! It's so beautiful!

Hello, This is a great question. Try searching for Crystal Chatons, Crystal Rivolis and Crystal Fancy Stones. Swarovski and Preciosa brands are some of the most popular. But now that Swarovski has limited their beading offerings, there are a few new players in the game. Also, I would check some of the websites geared towards beaders, such as: Potomac Beads Jill Wiseman Eureka Crystal Beads Art Beads Fire Mountain Gems There are many other beading sites as well. I hope this helps you with your journey. Dee

Would it be possible that my beading base might be too thick or do they all come in the thickness? Mine is fairly hard and thick, i like the stiffness but it's pretty hard to do the edging without seeing the base through the brick stitch
@AlluringBeader Жыл бұрын
Good morning. The short answer is yes. There are many thicknesses of interfacing available. I have never even tried using Lacy's stiff stuff so I am not sure how thick that is. I get mine at the fabric store for a great price. I hope this helps you out. Have a great day.
