This is what Hip Hop used to be. And what it was meant to be. Nothing wrong with money. Nothing wrong with sex. Nothing wrong with eating good. Nothing wrong with partying. But the good life will kill you just like the fast life will. Because too much of anything makes you a junkie. And these junkie/thot/trap/drill rappers got our community strung out in the worst way. Shout out to DEE 1. We need way more MCs like you. Way, way more.

Bold&Brashman I totally agree. But I think the industry is too afraid of someone like him, mad talented AND a positive influence. He can be detrimental to so many careers. Exactly why Lil Wayne had his mix tape banned. I honestly believe he'll make it eventually tho, but for right now he's just a little too ahead of the times.

I remember the day this Video aired 13yrs ago and I was fan instantly. Fast forward 9years later I met Dee-1 @my Church in Detroit “Great Faith” and Dee came with no body guards just him and his Mom. Real humble man of God he is. I told him this song about Jay 50 an Wayne was my all time favorite and he laughed and said that’s funny cause he had just met Jay Z for the first time at a meeting in NY. I asked how Jay was? An Dee laughed again and said “he’s something else is all I’m gonna say” 😂 Sayless Dee! He performed at my church and passed out school supplies to the youth. My Wife was selling his merchandise for him after he asked her too and me an him talked for awhile. Dee is the truth in and outside of this music industry. God bless him and his family.
