The problem with Lorettas is 98% of the people go there for the love of the sport knowing they aren’t going to win or make a living at this sport. The addiction of motocross is what keeps people spending money and racing. Shame on the manufacturers for cheating and treating that kid the way they did. I think pro AMA racing should be stock bikes with suspension And exhaust only. Then we’ll see who the good riders are when the factory rigs roll into these tracks all over the country. We would see how good these factory guys are against local pros that don’t have a fraction of the resources. This might be a comment that most don’t like, but it would bring more local pros into the mix if it wasn’t such an unfair advantage.

I guess my biggest issues with this are 2 fold: the Deegans and Yamaha. First, it is rediculuous they are bringing that tech to an amateur race more less a b class race. Then refuse to let the bike go and threathen peoples livelihoods with credible claims that the owner of the kids sponsoring dealership being called by Yamaha and talks of the kid not getting a factory ride if he claimed the bike. There should be sanctions levied for that alone by the ama. Cronyism at its best where obvious Yamaha has way to much influence over the ama and the rules only apply to the "little people". The deagans also obviously think the rules don't apply to them. Honestly been skeptical of them as anyone not liking travis Pastrana is questionable imo. Pastrana would race anything anywhere, now we know the deegans will only race with a far superior advantage to the competition and not follow the rules. The deegans are dead to me and are what we need gone from the sport or it will be ruined. Obvious winning races is financially beneficial for the deegans and isn't in the best interest of everyone else as far as abiding by rules as they are. My only question is did the deagans really only bring 1 bike or only 1 star racing Yamaha bike?

All the people who are actually employed by companies will be placing the blame on Matt Walker. He’s the scapegoat. He’s why he was the one making the text and calls. Plausible deniability. Donnie Luce sealed his fate when him and Matt conspired to intimidate a minor. Tim Cotter sealed his fate when he allowed a minor to be in a room with him and Brian Deegan only for 20 min of intimidation. The actions of grown men in this case is what’s the most damning. They will try to spin it anyway they can to downplay their involvement. But with that said it’s obvious this was completely their decisions that ultimately, and hopefully will get Matt, Tim, and Donnie looking for new jobs. The fact they did this to a minor is the most disturbing. Don’t let these men gaslight and cover their tracks. They should all be held accountable. But Matt Walker in my opinion should be the one we focus on the most. He works for himself and ultimately can walk away without any retribution. His actions were the most abhorrent. How the hell is Matt allowed to be around minors after this?

After hearing this guy speak about, I'm starting to feel less sorry for them. First off, the rule was broken. Once the bike was claimed, it no longer belongs to the previous owner. And the new owners can do whatever they want with it. So why even try to tell them you'll promise not to open it up? That was a mistake, in my opinion. Secondly, based on the way the conversations were going at the time, they should have recognized the damaged was already done. They were now in a, "no turning back" situation. The promoter hassled them. Yamaha hassled them. Brian hassled them. And someone was threatening to interfere with the kids Yamaha support. All bully tactics. Even after they dropped the claim, many respectable sources in the moto media were still bashing them. And that will continue. So, they should have held there ground and taken the bike. Then started the negotiations once they had the bike. The rule is the rule and everyone knew it. In my opinion the only appreciate action by Yamaha or Star, would have been offering to buy the bike back. At whatever price the kid wanted. And the AMA should have 100% backed whatever decision the kid made. Instead they used strong arm tactics. Now, he gets on hear wanting to apologize about what happened. Afraid to name names. And looking at it from their perspective to justify their actions. Well, good luck with that. The people who stood in the way of the claim, will never have a kind word to say about him and the kid. And neither will the millions of rabid The Degan's fans. The kid and his engine guy were in the right the whole time. Unfortunately their names will probably be drug through the mud, by the moto elites, from now on. They truly let a golden opportunity slip out of their hands.

Definitely sounds like they had special stuff in / on Haydens bike not that he needed it anyway but that really looks bad on Star's part and they're going to remember this going forward and unfortunately, I'm guessing he's going to have problems getting any Yamahas or sponsorship from Yamaha in the future.
