My son raced JuJu since 50's - 65's, Julian was trained by Seb Tortelli at Champ factory at that time. Yes he raced skis, but the narrative that he didn't race moto seriously is false. We know Deegan hasn’t gotten the best starts his first two races, but he has shown he can come from pretty much last place and work his way into the top 5. He’s shown with a mid pack start he can work his way to a podium and possibly a win. The speed and experience is definitely there for him and it’s still his championship to loose. My question is, Juju isn’t going to get the perfect start every race like he has the first two races where he’s not had to pass really much at all. How is he going to respond coming from the back of the pack or mid pack? There’s still some unanswered questions for me as far as Juju before I start saying he’s the better SX rider and I’m not trying to knock his start to the season. The West coast still has 8 races left with 3 of those being East/West shootouts so a lot can happen in the meantime.

There are 8 more races on west coast. And 2 are shootouts and a triple crown where anything could happen. Hes only 10 down. He still has ran the fastest times in the mains just shit starts. The heat race he ran 52 flat and ran them down in about 2 laps from 6 seconds down. Ju ju didnt do the same with a mid start in his heat. But deegan got arm pump that happens to the best of them at that point its just trying to hang on

250 SX just isn’t long enough to make up for bad starts when the top 4 guys are within 1 second lap times. Deegans endurance is why he is so good at outdoors. The 15 min SX race just doesn’t leave room for bad starts. Plus, the tracks been kinda sucking lately. Not many pass lines so starts are even more important. He just needs to start top 5 and I think he is good.

So far the biggest issue with Deegan is starts. He gets a bad start and then he has to over-ride to get to the front, or he's riding with too much emotion. And the fact is, he came into this championship cocky, severely underestimating the talent of Julien Beaumer and Cole Davies, maybe even Jo Shimoda and Jordon Smith too. So what he needs to do right now is work on his starts first and foremost. Then he needs to work on staying calm and hitting his marks when things don't go as planned. Then he needs to work on mentally arriving to the reality that there is, in fact, some competition this season despite his previous expectation. He can definitely win this championship but not with his eyes closed like he and everyone else probably expected.

Honestly, he mentioned Kitchen (not by name) and seemed to indicate that he thought he was the only heavy hitter on the coast. He slept in guys, and it's costing him. I think the bikes should have a tiny digital display mounted on their handlebar pad which is synced with the live timing. It only needs to have two lines of data -- current position and lap time. And it could also have a red blinking LED light that flashes when riders approach red cross flag sections. I've suggested to this FELD and MX Sports over the past 15 years, but they claim it's too expensive and unnecessary. 🙄

30 years ago when my son was racing 60 Int I used a pit board. After a few races he said "I can't see it, I'm racing". And really, that sums it up. There are rare occasions where they can be strategically useful. And most pro's say the same thing. Racers are just being quietly polite. 30mph is 45fps so in 1/2 sec 20+ft are gone. Even 7" glyphs are hard to see.

My take on Deegan this year, especially for going West Coast and the competition being not what it was expected, It's almost like when football teams play to the level of their competition… He's not really going to his full potential, because the competition really isn't there. As good as juju has shown to be, Deegs can go far beyond that, we've all seen it, he just hasn't yet. Pitboards should be MX only, personally I like em for nostalgia reasons and I also like mechanics involved with the rider! But they should all be electronic and provided by the race series, like timing systems you get one on entry and scrutineering plus E pit board, setup like an iPad each time for your rider! As for Deegan, I think he's just had a bad start, like Jett, I don't think it's pressure he loves pressure! But I see a few things personally again I, a Deegan fan, not a fanboi! I like what he brings to the sport with attitude it's genuine not fake and hopefully he retains that when he's under pressure! I guess we will just forget about the fact that deegan went form last to 5th round 1 (which no other rider would have done) and this past weekend his fastest laptime was over a second faster than any 250 guy and faster than any 450 guy. I'm surprised no one has been hit by a pitboard before now (edit: or at least seriously injured; I'm sure someone has been smacked or something). Always seemed dangerous to me! Some people are saying now mechanics WILL do this to purposely sabotage other riders considering there have been no penalties this time around, but in my opinion, if some mechanic were to try pulling that off from here on out, it would definitely look suspicious since it's never been a common problem before this incident. I don't think any team would risk the penalty, and I hooope no team would have that kind of malicious intent.

Stop it. There are people that will keep a close eye on all of those people to make sure nobody is gambling and doing anything illegal that don’t give two shts about gambling or this sport. Jett got bodied by Anderson round 1 and had to come from last and then washed his front in the sand, which happens to everyone, and had a bad round 1. Round 2 he rode like the Jett we know and almost won but that track didn’t really leave much room to find extra time for him to get by tomac the way Tomac was riding. Haiden crashed round 1 and came from last to 5th, doing what he normally does and then had a mediocre start round 2 and got 3rd, once again on a track that just didn’t have much time to gain when everyone knows the fastest line. Y’all just shut tf up with the dumb “oh there’s gambling so things must be rigged” bs narrative. Sports aren’t rigged. No professional athlete cares about gambling and is going to intentionally not win, especially when there are super limited factory spots available with many guys competing for those spots and contracts. They are always going to give it 100% and the rider would be the ONLY one that could intentionally rig their finish and control the gambling part.

A tort claim for damages, I havent even looked into it, by I know for a fact you cant cause physical or financial injury to a rider without severe compensation! Those holding the event must have some type of liability coverage. from watching your videos, you think a lot like I do, even UFC as I have been a fan since 94'. While the season is early, everyone assumed that Deegan would dominate these guys as he did in MX. Some riders are better suited for SX, and deegan isn’t the greatest technical rider yet. So he can’t just rely on riding wide open and pass everyone.

Shiiiiiit Deegan was lucky to be third he made 1 genuine pass for the whole race. He was stuck behind Masterpool and didn't even look like moving forward for an age, he wouldn't have caught Davies until that mistake and that rocked his confidence and he let Deegan role on buy, and Ryder well he axed himself too. This why Deegan was kind of pissed because he knew he didn't earn that 3rd and circumstances made the result better than it looked. Even in the heat race he over road the bike and looked panicked and impaitent ...... the pressure is definitely on on Deegan esspecialy if he doesnt take A2, because JuJu doesn't look like making a mistake, and hes so smart, yeah tried the quad found it to sketchy to do consistently so ill back it down its nearly at a point where he can just cruze it in for seconds. If Deegan drops more points this weekend will he start riding with that nasty streak we know he has. Best part about Deegan/JuJu thing is Deegan tries to intimidate and JuJu doesnt even give him the time day, nothing not even a comment even remotely pointed at Deegan..... that would be pissing Deegan off more than any response because we know he likes to play with his food and taunt like a little bully boy and JuJu just shuns it like a boss total dis move Hayden who?
