Most of the buildings You see were built after we allready left Congo and gave them their independance (we had to fight to obtain ours). With Exception of the Neo classical buildings from Leopold II most historical buildings in Belgium were constructed before Belgium even existed as a country on the map. Certainly before Congo became our Colony. So you are talking nonsence. It is true that Leopold stole a lot of resourses such as Ivory and Rubber and was very brutal for the black people of Congo and he did build a lot with that stolen money but you can not blame all your misfortune in Africa upon our white. Colonialism that ended in 1960 it is now 2024 what have you guys done to recouver in those 64 years? A lot of my county was destroyed in two World Wars but we got back on our feet without natural resourses. What have you done in Africa with all your resourses?

I'm from the area around Hasselt, the suburbs if you will. The houses in the suburbs are generally much more modern and larger than the innercity ones you showed. Anyway, Hasselt is really just a small average Flemish city, nothing special but also not a bad place to live. Glad you enjoyed it.
