Great talk. Quick question, what is it about a superficial vein thrombus that makes it less likely to cause a PE vs a deep vein thrombus? And also, will superficial vein thrombi break down if left alone or treated with an NSAID or will the affected vessel occlude?

I went to the ER for severe dehydration and they pumped ivs through my left arm first, after about 1/4 of the bag i noticed it was filling up the inside of my elbow area and asked the nurse to check, she apologized and switched to the right arm. The right arm then stopped getting flow about 1/2 way through and had to ask another nurse to check, he flushed it, i finished the bag and was sent home. Next day both arms were black and blue and i just wrote it off as ive had bruising after ivs before. A week later my right arm vein is hard to touch and feels lumpy. Feeling some mild odd sensations in that hand and some mild sharp pains at site of iv with vein. Curious if this is dangerous or if i should get it looked at? Should i be exercising with this if it is SVT? I do pull ups and pushups mostly and would like to know if i need to rest it or work it. Thanks for any help its appreciated
