Deep Blue is my favorite track to just listen to in Wrath (Death Odyssey is nicer in-game), so I wanted to make something to listen to. Music by: me! Art by: also me! Please do not use without credit. #music #ultrakill

Dude, your minimalist ULTRAKILL pixel art is actually getting shockingly more exhilarating with the efficiency per pixel of conveying stuff! And you’re filling the niche of ULTRAKILL piano covers with it! I’m repeating my last comment, but what more is there to say? By the way, are you planning a piano cover for Hall Of Sacrilegious Remains by any chance? I’ve had my experiments with Castle Vein to see how HOSR would sound and frankly it has piqued my interests to see your take on it.

I already have a full cover of HOSR, so it shouldn't be too much work to make a piano cover.

Well done! This is a really nice piece. the high energy ones get a lot of love, but each all of the music is seriously good. Glad to see they aren't forgotten lol. Question, out of all the covers you've done, which one are you most proud of?
@____goose Жыл бұрын
This is a pretty difficult question, as each of them have different strengths. My favorites are probably WAR and Hall of Sacrilegious Remains, but I think that my art for Deep Blue is probably the best out of the ones I made for covers. My cover of WAR I really like because I think I captured the intensity of the song well. In general, one of my gripes with piano covers is that they fail to capture the scale of the music. I opt for less playability in my songs in favor of a more 'faithful' adaptation, even though I improvise on covers a lot as well. Hall of Sacrilegious Remains is a really nice and underused piece in my opinion, it might even be my favorite song in a main level. My cover for it doesn't just use piano, and it sounds recognizably like my own work while still staying close to the source material, which I quite like. I think it's a bit of a shame that ORDER, WAR, and AoA got the most viewership, even though it was predictable. I was hoping for some more even distribution, but I'm still happy and my channel has (relatively) blown up recently regardless.
@Anklejbiter Жыл бұрын
@@____goose Honestly, WAR is one of my favourites of yours, too. Capturing the emotion of a piece can be really difficult on piano. I've found I fell into certain traps over the years, like using double or triple octaves, or playing loud. Sometimes it's effective, but I've tried to cut down recently, or at least spice it up a bit. I like Hall of Sacrilegious Remains, and using more instruments sounds good, I agree. I want to learn how to use more than just musescore, but It's a very intimidating task. What do you use; and where did you learn? When did you start making music? [at the risk of sounding like a plug, when really I like music and I want to share the things I enjoy] My favourite of my tracks may also be my recent transcription, the cybergrind, which drove me crazy. Trying to transcribe breakcore to piano is another kind of punishment. But, as you did, I found that relaxing the constraints a bit and letting creativity play a part helped a lot. For example, one of the drum fills was replaced with a riff from the old betagrind theme. (but fr please check it out I've been working on it since January I am in so much pain and i would like feedback from someone with your talent and skill level). It's a toss up between that and seventeen, where I let creativity run wild and wrote something original in 17/16. I get what you mean for popularity. My most popular videos are predictable: Game theory theme, Pinball theme, etc. But those were years ago, and I put a LOT more work into my stuff now, and it feels like nobody ever sees them. But, I will say, you're pulling some incredible numbers. It has me surprised you only have 200 subs, because the algorithm is treating you like you have a few thousand. And it's well deserved, too. you're really good at this, and I know it's not easy lol. I also like the thumbnail art for this one, The shading is articulate and helps it pop. Well done. I'm really proud of my doom thumbnails, but they were getting like 10 views each so I ended up cancelling that. I guess people like music more than games lol

@@Anklejbiter I also use MuseScore for both my piano and regular stuff (I use MS3 because MS4 makes things a little weird for me and doesn't have soundfont support). I've had no luck with FL or anything similar, I just can't read piano roll to save my own life. I started making music about seven years ago, and it was truly awful. I listened to your Cyber Grind transcription and I really like it! It's got a lovely fast bass. I like the usage of octaves in particular, it conveys the tone of the song well without seeming overused, which is something that I constantly have to fight for. I can very clearly tell that the song took a lot of effort and time, which I really appreciate. Your thumbnail design is also really nice, very clear and readable. Those are the two most important things in a thumbnail for me, which is typically why I stick to two colors.

Oh, I forgot to mention as well, Seventeen is a stunning piece. I love the use of the extra sixteenth note to create emphasis through holding notes that wouldn't be possible in 4/4, and even composing in 17/16 seems like quite the challenge.
@Anklejbiter Жыл бұрын
@@____goose Oh, very nice. I used to use drums in Musescore back when I was starting, but it's easier to write for just piano, and I didn't think the sound really fit with the songs, so i stopped using it. I knew you could use other instruments, but I had no idea the sound quality was so good. I assume it makes it really, tough, though. I started... Dang, also 7 years ago. Can't believe it's been that long already. I also don't use MS4 because the UI is hard to get used to, keyboard shortcuts don't work like I'm used to, and honestly, the sound is different, and I'm used to 3 now lol. A lot of my old tricks don't work with the new dog. And thanks! I'm glad you like seventeen, I like it a lot also. maybe the title isn't as creative, but that's how it is sometimes lmao. Believe it or not, it's actually partially inspired by Doom Eternal's soundtrack. Specifically, Hell on Earth. I was interested in the way Mick used the 4-3 pattern to create a 5/4 piece, and so I was messing around with that idea on the back of a reciept at work, and 17 was the one that felt most natural. I'm glad it worked, it was fun to try. 11 and 15 were also fun, but both required switching back to 4/4 a handful of times to bring the time together. Interesting, but not what I was initially intending to accomplish. Anyway, You're pretty good, really incredible, actually. Keep it up, and I'll check out more stuff later today (unfortunately youtube hasn't been giving me anything of yours, so I'll have to watch it manually... no problem, it's worth it)
