A lot of times I don't like the way white people sound when playing blues and particularly when playing acoustic/country blues because they tend to sound contrived in their way of singing. They just don't sing in their own voice and I don't think that's it's necessarily done on purpose. It might be out of fear that they will sound goofy.......kind of in the same way a yuppy type from some big city might sound singing "REAL" soulful country music. They would lack the cultural feel for the music and the accent, but this would be more evident if they tried to fake it. Well, Its cool to hear you play and sing because you come off as if you are just singing the way you sing and you have an awesome singing voice and it sounds authentic simply because you are being authentic. Soulful voice, soulful playing and I love it. Glad I found this channel.

Thanks for the kind words, Hambone. In the past I have tried singing in a contrived voice. It came off more comical than convincing. I just love the music and decided to sing songs that I can relate to.
