Even though you didn't give the right quote it's nice to see you still did a professional job. That is a rare thing, well done gentlemen.

Uh, they can still charge the appropriate amount. The customer was intentionally dishonest or misleading. I've had that happen and changed the pricing real quick and informed that customer that the $1,200 job he had made it seem, had become a $6,400+ job based on the findings and what would need to be done. And that number is still up for change or adjustment based on parts and other factors involved.

@@nasiaa2638 getting paid right, or having a customer that's gonna continuously be deceptive? No thanks. That's why I build and work on firearms. If you cant afford it, then the work doesn't get done. Don't want to pay at the end, I sell the firearm to someone who can. I also don't put $2400 of work into a firearm that's only worth $400-800 unless it's something with meaning. And a build is worth what it's worth and doesn't leave the shop unless we get paid what it costs. I dont sell myself short and wont let myself be under cut. Someone else will do it for less? Then go to them. You'll be back and have to pay more to have what they possibly screwed up.
