For the first time someone actually explained deep cranking in a way that was simple and informative. Thank you for helping me at least! To understanding this technique a little more better.

Deep cranking is harder to duplicate, but it is extremely exciting and rewarding! Great video, very informative!👌👍

Great video as always. Your videos are detailed and informative for the angler looking to see how the pros actually do it, unlike others that simply show themselves catching fish. Keep them coming. Love the channel!

Great vid bro, thx for being so informative. You reminded me of the effectiveness of deep diving cranks, as I was using more shallow diving ones (big 0 mainly), but caught some nice smallmouth bass and pike on deep diving cranks in the past. I will order some more from my local angling shop, especially considering the weather is getting both hotter and more humid, so those smallmouth bass will be moving to deeper water under relatively large underwater structures. I also like the fact that you can fish shallow water with deep diving cranks, as they will reach the bottom quicker. I'll trol them and anchor with these.

I took a buddy out one time to learn deep cranking, set up on a rock bar in 13-15’ of water, gave him a 5XD and told him to throw all the line off the reel, bring the bait back and he would feel the rock, and when he didn’t feel the rock anymore to burn it 3 turns of the handle and hang on. He caught a 3-9 on the first cast and another 3-9 on the second cast. He was hooked after that

I feel that when I swap out the trebles to the specific of one smaller size Gamakatsu hooks (2x strong), the SPRO’s crankbait emits a very unique vibration. You should try my suggestion and tell me what it is that I’m talking about because I would like to know some more.
@JohnCrews5 жыл бұрын
Alias Find Interesting. Louder or just different than stock?
@Unspoke5 жыл бұрын
John Crews It’s just different. Not sure how to explain it but the vibration is amazing. I changed the Fat John 50 stock hooks to a size 6 Gamakatsu 2x strong round bend.

Hey John! Tell me, please, which of your fishing rods is the most universal? To be able to fish with jerkbaits, crankbaits, spinnerbaits, swimbaits, poppers... For example, "ICON John Crews Big Bait Rod" is too powerful for my conditions. I would like a lighter and more delicate rod for catching small pikes (usually 1.5 - 3 kg) and perches (no more than 1.3 kg). But I like to fish with different baits. I also need not a short rod, for long distance casting. For example, while fishing, I can use the O.S.P. BLITZ MAX, Megabass PopMax, O.S.P Azura Rudra 130 SP, Nories Hira Crank Gill S-Bill 110 (30g), Savage Gear 4D Line Thru Trout SS 150mm (35.0g), spinnerbait/chatterbait 10-15g. And I want to cover it all with one the most delicate rod for such tasks. I'm looking at "ICON John Crews Deep Cranking Rod", but I'm worried that it will be too soft for poppers or jerkbaits. What do you think about it?

Hi - what rod do you recommend for light crankbaits eg 3/16-3/8 oz? Thanks

hey John,even though Im stuck on the shore I crank a LOT.I got the Ike Delay with a revo x 5:4.1 on top and a Fenwick Lunker Stick with a Tatula 100 in a 6:3.but being on shore the squarebills and DT6s are my go to's.I crank on Sunlune Assassin 12lb.my question is the Shooter,Sniper and Assassins different flouro blends for different apps?I also saw Lintener cranking with,well Sunline Crank.whats the blend differences?

crankin is my nemesis. i can't seem to master it. i either don't hit bottom (no big deal but still frustrating) or i hit bottom and get hung up. after so many hang ups/lost baits i lost my confidence. i like this vid because he tells you you have to figure out the pace between catching them and getting hung up. i guess like a lot of things bass fishing it takes a bit of practice and experience.
@woefman94674 жыл бұрын
Do you have a large selection of baits? Sometimes a line change can get desired depth needed... Hitting bottom to hard(digging) go up line size... Are you fishing hard bottom or mud? KZbin gets fisherman up to speed faster but these guys on tour often figured it out on thier own...unfortunately fishing not easy... Use what learned but tinkering to your own gear is a must. No quick solutions.

Does a parabolic arch mean that you have a moderate action rod ? He said medium heavy power with a parabolic arch, so it the rod had fast action and bent it the top third of the blank that would not be a true parabolic arch ? Anyone else get confused by this ?
@JohnCrews3 жыл бұрын
It is confusing. Action is the power. Taper is where the rod bends so more moderate means bends more throughout the rod versus the tip

I have around 5 baitcasters and I have no problems using my 10x deep divers with my spinning setup. It's my go-to setup for the fall. I've moved away from baitcasters because I just don't see the advantage. Pros are fishing a different game than I am so I don't have to over think it.

I’be asked David Dudley this same question because he is also a local boy that fishes SML. Do you feel that SML is a good deep cranking lake? Mr. Dudley says no because of the lake not have enough current, what’s your opinion. I see that this video is probably on SML.

I guess John crews has no option. Do t you hate when these people start KZbin channels and they ask for your support and subscriptions and they don’t even take time to respond to you. I just do t take time to watch their videos then.
