The batteries should be seperated in leaving a gap between them to help keep them cooler,right? Also,Marine deep cycle batteries (AGM) last a lot longer and can be run down to 20%...and yes they are more expensive but are much more worth it in long run.

Connecting 2 batteries in parallel with same voltage rating but different in amperhour..What if one of the 2 batteries got full charge and the other one still need to be charge..How could a charge controller act in this situation?

By doing this you only increase the amps so it's a no brainer. But remember to connect the red power cables from the car to the second battery red terminal.

I dont think being hot out helps your charge, I think its the amount of sunlight your panel gets is what matters.

Correct just like most things heat reduces production. So most panels will begin to reduce production once you are past a certain Fahrenheit

I feel like im watching video’s from the past century with that 65ah rating… my battery is 120ah on its own and the same size. Tbh i think you have insufficient amp hours and thats the stem of all your problems. You want to over do your consumption and. over do your solar capacity. This will ensure a full battery and charge and a full night of use. Eg: you may have 130ah but you can only use 50% of that 65ah of as some people think you can get 80% but we wont get into that. Now you have 65ah for the night, you have obviously used 65 of those. You need another battery and a low voltage cut off. All solar regulators have this function so in my honest and humble opinion sir. You have not done your due diligence. Get another battery and set it all up properly from the start. Enough battery/enough solar/program your solar control or if you don’t have one at the very minimum add a low voltage cut out and charge your batterys to 14.4 and let them float down on their own. Worked for me for 6+ years one battery one fridge one panel one time! Never turns off

As long as you are using all 12v or all 6v batteries in your set up it doesn't matter the make or amp hours. Dont forget 12v in Parallel is for a 12v system, 12v in series is for 24 volt system. 6v in parallel is for a 6 volt system and 6v in series is for a 12 volt system.

But in series, at 65ah, if you draw the same load, because it’s at double the voltage (24v vs 12v), it should draw half the amps and thus the runtime should be the same as when connected in parallel.... Right?

I'm trying to keep my 500w ebike charged as I'm riding. I have a 4lb scooter battery that powered on a 750w power inverter. So I thought about plugging the ebike charger in the inverter with just 1 small scooter battery. So I asked the man that works at the battery store he told me since the charger is 48v , he said I need to have 4 small scooter batteries to make it 48v. Do I need 4 batteries or can I just use 1 battery. He said if I use less than 48v it can mess up something. Is that true or false ??

Yes, you need 4, 12 volt batteries in series to make 48 volt.

@@jackofalltradesmasterofnon6120 I thought the same thing but after looking at Walmarts everstart H8 AGM for $170 with a 4 year free replacement warranty and with 170 minutes of reserve capacity I figured that it is the better battery on the market right now. These 3 are the most important variables in a battery. 1. Cost. 2. Reserve capacity. 3. Warranty. Usually the higher the reserve capacity, the higher the amp hour rating gets. A lot of people say that the H8 AGM is a car battery but if we think about it so are Walmarts deep cycle batteries because they have a high cranking amp rating.

Walmart’s 29dc flooded batteries have a higher reserve capacity than the H8 you referenced at half the cost. A lot of people trash talk these batteries but have no idea that they are manufactured by Johnson controls who makes optima batteries and OEM batteries for many car manufactures including Ford and GM.

Based on numbers it's 130 ah, but in reality, you slice that in half. And that's being modest. In truth, you only get roughly 48% of the total rated ah. Especially if used with decent discharge rates. Ie: I have the same system setup, mines just a larger group giving me a total of 200ah, but if I plug something in that draws ~400w and 8-15 amps (it goes up as voltage drops), it only lasts 1 hr max if I get lucky.
