But in no way is that an easy accomplishment that every program can do. Bc they can’t. On top of having a terrible OL, can’t really coach that up fr. After this season, if you want to see them win a natty and they fall short, then you can have a hating victory parade. But 1 SEASON?? Cmon. Plus their best player and QB missed multiple games

The hilarious thing is…Deion could’ve kept the team he had inherited, and they still would’ve won four games, which we’ve seen from plenty of other coaches, that teach players. The difference is he wants a bunch of little Deion Sanders, so that’s what he’s trying to find. But the same teams Deion played on had one Deion Sanders… And a bunch of regular guys like the ones that were on Colorado already. I said this before, and I’ll say it again… If everyone in the world was like Deion Sanders, this world would be absolute chaos. But back to the team he screwed up. He’s going for the transfer portal team, because that’s easier than coaching players up. He’s literally letting other coaches coach them up from other programs, Because he can’t coach players up. With the dismissal of 71 players when he first got to Colorado… And we’ve seen it again when he blamed every player that left, or every player that didn’t improve Colorado’s bad coaching in 2023.

Deion knows how a championship NFL team is supposed to look and be like. But those were professionals, not kids. He’s still new to coaching college kids, especially at the P5 level. Being a HC, there’s a learning curve and he’s still learning. He needs at least 4-5 years to really evaluate his HC acumen.

Philip you’re totally wrong on the apples to oranges take. You’re talking about recruiting. There’s always been 3 avenues to recruiting in college, and still is, one is just easier to do now with the TP. 1 is high school recruiting. 2. Is the Transfer Portal. And 3 is JUCO. Now Fran is taking the HS recruiting route and getting the athletes and players he wants to form HIS team. He’s playing the long game. The traditional game. Develop the players to be how you want them to be or why you can see them to be. Now Deion is only using the TP it seems. The problem with that is the quality of player you’re getting and what prior teachings you’re getting out of it. You’re not getting Caleb Williams, Bo Nixes, and 4+ lineman and #1 starters from other teams from the TP. You’re typically getting the 3-4th string players or grad transfers with 1 year of eligibility remaining. And those players you’re getting from the TP only have 1-2 years of eligibility remaining typically so it’s not like you can develop them the way you want them to be. It also doesn’t allow enough time for the team go gel and get to truly know each other. Take the O Line for example. Your lineman have to learn not just the plays, the blocking scheme, their own footwork but also the lineman’s next to them’s footwork to make sure they don’t shift too far or set too far to the side or too far back and step on their ankles or feet. There’s so many nuances that come with each room that only being around the group for 1-2 years isn’t enough time. If Deion keeps with the TP route his cap is 6-6 simply because he’s getting the bronze and copper pieces from other teams 9/10 times and not the silver or even gold medals needed to take that next step.
@machiavellisprince5986
@machiavellisprince5986 Ай бұрын
Deion could have easily gone 6-6 WITH a bad O line last season. Utah was stolen by the refs. Several games were impacted by Travis Hunter and Shiloh being injured. Most team that beat them were within 3 to 7 points. Again, with no O line. So 6-6 can’t be the cap.
@hotdangers
@hotdangers Ай бұрын
Generally I agree with you but Caleb Williams and Bo Nix are bad examples because they both transferred. I agree that Deion isn’t getting that caliber of player out of the portal and he’d be more likely to get those guys if he tried harder to recruit high school.

The Athletic was a hit piece on Deion as the Old Boy Network doesn’t like uppity black head football coaches adapting to the current model of college football. If The Athletic wanted to do a piece on the consequences of The Portal they would have covered under college football programs and players. They targeted Deion on purpose. In regard to the portal as of so far it seems to be working out. Jedd Fisc’s accomplishments at Arizona is the perfect benchmark. Fisch was brought in to resurrect a Wildcat program that lost 12 games straight. He went 1-11 in 2021, 5-7 in 2022 and 10-2 in 2023. Deion was brought in to a really, really, really bad 1-11 Buffs team. He used the first portal of Dec ‘22 and the Soring ‘23 portal and got better. The team went out and won 4-8, losing 6 games by a score or less. He’s now gone out and gotten better in the December ‘23 portal and has gotten better with the spring ‘24 portal. The core of the team has been together for a year now, they’ll have used the second year of the portal to address holes and fill out the 2 deep. What makes anyone think the Buffs won’t win more games this coming year? The PAC12 was a strong conference last year (2 teams in the Top 6 in the end of season rankings) and the Buffs move to a very competitive BIG12… but what makes anyone think the Buffs won’t improve on their record from last season. Buffs win 8 games this season. Deion will be outperforming Fisch’s accomplishments in his first two years. So, no… Deion isn’t getting preferential treatment… it’s called resurrecting a program. The two banning buffoons of this podcast have no sense of context.

@@JohnSpringer-tq3vb well, the over under is 5.5 wins. Which means they expect the Buffs to win 5 or 6 games. Which would peg him exactly even or better with Jedd Fisch who won 5 games after his second year at Arizona and people at that time were praising what an incredible job he was doing. The reality, is you don’t like him (just say that) but you can’t say he’s a terrible coach after one year. His team won more games than the oddsmakers gave and all the media talking pundits they would do. So, no. You are incorrect sir. I still have Buffs winning 8 and even then people will complain how awful he is as a coach and how bad the Buffs are as a team. We’ll season, seasons not that far away.

Deion has always positioned himself as the coach that will turn that boys into men and care about them like these other coaches can't/don't which has been absolutely untrue he has more turnover on his roster than pretty much anybody in the country because it was never about developing young men its about winning (which they aren't and i don't foresee that happening in '24) just like every other coach at this level, his schtick is disingenuous and that whole trolling CFB players on Twitter was so childish no leader of any multi-million business should be doing that but the Neon Deion Nuthuggers refuse to hold him accountable to level its giving cult, and just like in Waco in '94 this operation is gonna burn to the ground.

The fact that people are being so stupidly critical of this coach after 1 year is just crazy. Prime wants to win and win NOW. He cannot do that with HIGH SCHOOL FKN PLAYERS. He needs to get talent and experience and win now and once he gets his program ESTABLISHED and off to the races after a few years , then he can add the inexperienced High school players to mix with veteran players. First of all, he would not have to shut the block down. That’s ridiculous. He can easily go visit anyone in the country and as long as he doesn’t make his business public, he’d be fine. More importantly however, the problem is not that people can’t separate Prime Time from Coach Prime….the problem is there is no difference between Prime Time and Coach Prime. Bottom line, if he can’t recruit better in high school than he’s been recruiting so far, Colorado will never be a threat.

@brianfisher4701 exactly my point the point in just a few years those portal guys came in better than their own hs recruits & were the main contributors to turning FSU back into a winning program. Context Prime had no multi year 4 star recruits already in house so it was even easier for an fsu or oregon washington to do it. Prime building completely from scratch that's the part that's never been seen before because it wasn't even possible before 2021

It’s interesting when you was making the compare between three teams that had a one and 11 season. There was no mention that CU average loss rate was 30 points!! Also when you look at CU being in a PAC 12 which was one of the most competitive divisions of all is a representation of the results. The climb up is much harder when you in the most competitive division and you inherit the team that lost on average by 30 points still difference between apples and oranges within the three teams that was 1-11

No deion can't separate deion the player from coach prime. If you know a lot of people don't believe in all the bs, than why are deion supporters so confused. This is no different than any other aspect of life, you seek attention, you get attention, good and bad. It's one thing when others pat you on the back, say good job. It's another to give yourself glory and accolades. Hell dumb ass rappers consistently brag about how much money they have, flaunt jewelry and cars then get robbed. I wonder why? Maybe it has something to do with the attention they bring on theirselves. Maybe! Then again maybe it's the child like behavior he exhibits every time you see him. Furthermore isn't coaching about teaching kids how to be better players and get the most out of their ability, also being a mentor and serve as a bridge for these young men transitioning into adult hood. I tend to think the backlash with deion is less about his ability to coach or teach because he does know the game and knows what it takes, but his antics. Self serving grandioso, look at me, I did this, I am that. Has never sat well historically. that's across all races,ethnicities, and nationalities. To sum it up some people are easy to root for, and some people are easy to root against ( ⬆️ Example above). No likes a person who takes all the credit for things that go right, but accepts no credit for the things that go wrong, no one likes the rich kid that's a spoiled brat, no one likes a loser, no one likes a liar. There are several channels. Well Off, Thee Pregame and Reach The People that are allowed on to the practice field and in to meeting rooms. We say they "Quit" not because we are mindless idiots that listen to what Prime says. We can literally watch them quit. Like when Benson went after David Conner........Guess who hit the portal? Come on Man....Give us a little bit of credit. This is literally the most chronicled team in college football, but for those of us that immerse ourselves in the content, somehow we are incapable of processing what we see everyday. It has to be we believe what we believe because Prime said it. You can watch and see on any of those channels who is about to hit the portal, not because Prime tells us what to believe.

You are the one being manipulated . I can see empirically with my own eyes the difference in size and body composition . You people hear stuff on these shows and you repeat it without doing your own research. All the video is there from when Prime started to now. You can clearly see the evolution of the team. But you keep believing that we are all idiots and can’t see things with our own eyes. As if we are Primes minions just believing everything he says. We’ll find out when the season starts who’s right.
