Simpsons Roasting Over an Open Fire isn't a pilot episode. As a matter of fact the show never had a pilot.

The pilot was originally planned to be Some Enchanted Evening. This is all in the video I made on The Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire. I'll mention it again in a future video & include the commentary from the failed pilot as well. ☕️👍🏻

@@MurderTheMouse You're right about "Enchanted" being the first episode, my beef was more with the careless use of the term "pilot episode". Many use this phrase to mean "first episode" but that's not strictly true. "Enchanted" is part of the 7G production season so it can't be a pilot. A pilot would have needed to be produced before the show was picked up by a network. on the subject of Odyssey though, I do agree that the ending is a huge cop-out.

@adlaistevenson2623 These are just semantics. I'm using the same term the creators use in the commentaries of these episodes. Matt Groening & James L Brooks repeatedly refer to Some Enchanted Evening as "the failed pilot" & The Simpsons Roasting On An Open Fire as "the unintentional pilot." So, your "beef" is with them, not me. Perhaps whatever studio you're currently working for has a very rigid set of rules when it comes to terminology. Apparently, back then, FOX called it a "pilot." So, for the sake of accuracy, I'll just stick with the words used by those who did the work rather than someone who has "beef" over the use of "pilot." I doubt they care about such things. I know I don't. 👍🏻☕️

@@MurderTheMouse And normally I wouldn't care either if this was an isolated incident, but people calling any first episode of a show a pilot is becoming increasingly common, and I believe misusing the word helps perpetuate the misconception of what it actually means. I didn't mean to be a stick in the mud or single you out specifically, just thinking that a strive for accuracy is preferred. Matt Groening called it a plilot? Boy, I hope someone was fired for that blunder!

@Best..YT..Music..Playlists Ah! I should have known since "Epic" is the name of the song. I believe this was the version I used: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aYbOpWeHiaZlfZIsi=0Ym5zBZ-VWS37Jl1 The version I used on the non-YT cut of this video is the real Faith No More version. But it's the instrumental. Crossing my fingers for YT to allow this link to go through. 🤞🏻

My big sister showed me that outro on the family piano when I was a kid. When it came out I was obsessed with that songs outro but I knew no piano at all so she showed me it single note by single note Painstakingly. Thanks Cath
