The table of all Babbitt mouthpieces are not flat. They are poorly finished from the factory.

Dear @jatopan79, Thank you for your feedback. As a company with a 105-year history, we acknowledge that there may have been inconsistencies between the chapters of our company for many reasons. However, we have made significant improvements in this most recent season to ensure our mouthpieces meet the highest standards. It's important to note that Otto Link and Meyer mouthpieces have always been designed with a deliberate concave shape from the beak down the throat of the mouthpiece. This tradition predates Babbitt's association with these brands and was believed by the Meyer brothers and Otto Link himself to create a better "seal" between the reed and the mouthpiece face, especially as the reeds adjust over time. When the mouthpiece is not in use, the reed will sit flat and even, but during play, the reed "sucks down" and seals. That being said, your comment makes a general statement about all Babbitt mouthpieces without providing context. It's unclear if your experience was with a recent purchase or from a past season. This distinction is important, as we have taken great strides in the last few years to ensure our quality is second to none. Our current production process combines skilled artisanship and modern techniques, resulting in handcrafted mouthpieces that uphold the legacy of these iconic brands. To better address your concerns and provide a more targeted solution, we kindly request more details about your experience, such as the mouthpiece model and when it was purchased. Please email this information to info@jjbabbitt.com. If you have further concerns, please reach out. Your feedback is valuable to us as we continue to improve and uphold our commitment to excellence. Thank you!

@@jjBabbittOfficial All modern production is poor, the mouthpieces are inconsistent and do not work well with the reeds. They all need a reface so that they play well and easily. Neither the new EB nor the new Meyer Bros are doing well and you have also increased their price. Talk to great craftsmen like Brian Powell...

@@jatopan79 Do you have proof that the new mouthpieces are not doing well?

@@jatopan79I recently (back in Dec.) got a brand new Tenor Otto Link Tone Master Vintage 7*. Out of the box with a D’Addario Jazz Select 3S reed sealed and it played amazing. Stuff your complaints in a sack.
