Nice! I’ve heard great things about Rudee Tours. I have a tuna trip in September but if the tuna bite it slow we might switch to tiles

Now we're talking! The deep drop is the drip!!! Tile, Goldens and Rosies - all day. And yep, electric is a must. Great video. If I could suggest an electric - I have a collection of Daiwa electric reels - I would suggest a SPJ 300-500, they're lighter and easier on your hands and bonus, excellent jigging reels. Also, Piscifun has a really affordable electric (I'm not sponsored by them, just checking them out)

Great vids Philly Girl! Love the fluking vids on the Gypsea. If you plan on doing more deep drop trips/ offshore sea bass/ cod,pollock,Rosie’s,etc. pick yourself up a Daiwa Seaborg G300G and spool it with 20/30 test/ PE 1.5-3 which will give you a ton of line so you’ll need a much lighter sinker and you can slow pitch jig them which is much easier on your body especially your arms…Lol Hand cranking in water up to 1,500’ can be a real PIA so it’s great to have an electric…Well worth the $$$ The problem with the electrics is not the reels but the fisherman. The minute they hook up they hit the throttle and rip the fish up too fast pulling the hook. After hooking up with a J-hook, circle or jig get ‘em a good 20-25 cranks off the bottom and then ease the throttle while keeping nice even tension on the fish. I never understood why guys/gals reel fish in no matter what the species at warp speed! Nice and easy wins the game and fills the cooler. Another tip, try silver eel, fluke belly, salmon strips, butterflied Rosie’s, and any other strip bait with a tough skin so you don’t have to keep re-baiting which saves time and effort. More time in the water=more fish….👍💪🙏🎣 My views/tips are meant to help, not hurt…

Hey John thank you so much for the advice! Yea I didn’t want to commit to the electric setup in case I wasn’t going to do this style of fishing ever again 🤣🤣. Overall first experience I would say this is a once a year or every other year type of trip for me. I actually had a jigging setup with me but it was manual and I didn’t want to get my jig tangled so I stuck with bait just in case. I definitely want to catch one on a jig next time. What’s the deepest you ever jigged for tile before?

Electric reels don't allow for enough differing imo 😂
@PhillyGirlFishing Жыл бұрын
Yea electric reel fishing is definitely different 😅 That’s why it was easier for me to set the hook by holding the rod 😅

@PhillyGirlFishing was supposed to say "suffering" not "differing" stupid autocorrect. Yeah I've wished for one when I have to check the bait 600ft down 🤣

@@NJmultispecies 🤣🤣🤣 ohhhh ok that makes more sense lol and yup I could deal with the suffering of reeling up with a fish…but lawd just to reset the drift that was tough 🤣🤣🤣
