Greetings from Bulgaria, dear friends! The singer is just unique! I think she also sings "Marta's song" and I adore that music! :) This song it's hard to be translated because there are some little mistakes and I can't understand the lyrics, but it's about a girl working and a man seeing her and asking her what is her name, and she says that her name is the beutiful name Todora. It's with way more meaning, but... it's hard to explaing! So, thanx for the music!

Very nice! Great job; the images are so wonderful. They are pretty much what the music evokes so you chose well. Love it!

The first two discs of this amazing French duo are a MUST-HAVE at everyone's home discotheque. Brutally emotive, illustrative and musically impecable. Tell me again that the voices they feature on their songs are from people over their 40s (and not from children, that is how rejuvenating they are/sound), because I still do not believe it.

Sounds very interesting - a Bulgarian song performed by a Hungarian voice. She sounds beautiful but so different - too many vocal curves, we don't sing our folk music like this here, in Bulgaria. The music sounds closer to my country at the very beginning, only the instrumental part. We have some composers who make such kind of classical music on a base of folklore. Nevertheless - thanks for the beautiful clip and the reverence to Bulgarian folklore and culture.

It`s not bad and i`m happy that foreigners like bulgarian music and sing bulgarian songs but it could sound a little bit different, performed by native musician.

@TheHideg8 First of all, i want to say, what i ment back then, was not "the song is bad" , i ment that bulgarian folklore singers are a littel bit different , they have an accent themselves or i should say, they sing with dialekt, it may be funny but it`s true.I`m not musician myself so i cannot say if she is really good but , i would say she sings fresh, and interessting and i hear this song with pleasure :).

@Pretended and I know how the Serbian folclore was constructed:in the same way:throw out anything that might resemble somebody elses tradition(in the Balkans this ususly ment Turkish and Orientalelements)and thats it,you got your folkore!I enjoy when seeing these fusions!these are so subversive thorwards official naratives about "nation", "tradition"...

A love between a Turkish guy and a Bulgarian lady ? I was surprised when I saw the lyrics, being a Turkish myself. Is this folkloric ?

Doesn't happen often. It's mostly about women being taken into slavery against their will etc. Christians would never marry Muslims of their own volition

So the correct lyrics with approximate translation are: Todora kupai misiri iz delibeiski chairi (2)/ Todora is hoeing the corn in the delibeyan meadows. (Delibey means Mad bey) Otdolu ide Mustafa i na Todora dumashe (2) / Mustafa is coming from below (that means 'from the road below' or something similar) and says to Todora Dobar ti den mari momiche, che ne ti znam imeto(2) / Good day to you girl, I don't know your name. Todora duma Mustafa moeto ime e nai-lesnoto, nai-lesno i nai-hubavo: Todora turska izgora / Todora says to Mufasa my name is the easiest, the easiest and the most beautiful: Todora The Turkish Love (this is some kind of kidding which means 'the one that will enchant the Turk') Hich ne ti miaza Todoro bashtini nivi da kupaish, bashtini nivi da kupaish, bashtini nivi misiri / That isn't to you Todora: to hoe father's corn fields A nai-ti miaza Todoro biala kadana da stanesh / the best for you is to become white turkish wife.

Todora is hoeing the corn in the 'delibeyan' meadows. Mustafa is coming from the road and says to Todora "good day to you girl, I don't know your name" Todora says to Mustafa: "my name is the easiest, the easiest and the most beautiful: 'Тоdоrа, the one that will enchant the Тurk' " "To hoe your father's corn fields doesn't fit to you, Todora. To become a white turkish wife will be the best for you"

@Pretended yes. It is more folcloric than "official" Bugarian folclore.Since WWII bulgarian ethnology sistematicaly threwout Turkish elements from their folclore. You could say Bulgarian folclore is more constructed immage of own nation than real tradition.Andthis did not happen only inBulgaria,Since I am from Serbia, and since Iam anthropologist,I know these stuff, and I know how the Serbian folclore was constructed:
