It’s been nine months since I pulled everything out of the deep freezer. Time to get a thorough inventory and make a plan for using things up.

This is fantastic! It's good to have a stock when things are cheap and eat through them when they are expensive. The beyond meat is SO flexible! Make burgers, but also make tacos, bolognese sauce for pasta, crumble it over scalloped potatoes or even add it to salads for extra protien. It even does great in soups!

Thanks for the tips on using up the veggie burgers/crumbles!! I plan to use a couple this weekend on lettuce cups. Tacos are def a great idea! 🌮❤

Hi Mimi, It feels good to have the inventory of proteins, and who knows where prices will be six months from now, right? I hope you find some great deals on ground beef and stew meat! Blessings to you. 🧡

I needed this inspiration!! My deep freeze I try to look through monthly but I really need to fully empty it and organize in categories to meal plan.

Thanks for letting me know you found this video inspiring! We are blessed to have deep freezers full of food, and I hope you 'find' all kinds of yummy things when you jump into organizing yours!! 💗

I know a general idea what is in my deep freezer. I've been pulling out of mine to use up. It takes forever, because it's mostly me and a teenager. My grandparents live next door and she's helped use some items too.

It does seem to take forever to get through things, especially now that I'm and empty nester. You are well-blesse to have your grandparents next door! Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment!

My side by side is full too. It's like reverse Tetris to meal prep out of it. I pull stuff out, but end up putting stuff back in. (Prep I don't want to waste. Meal portions from larger dinners that I don't want to go bad. I try to pull out every so often to use. It's harder to keep track of the side by side in the kitchen, than the deep freezer in the garage.

I am very blessed to have them next door. I talk with them all the time. We hangout a lot especially in the summer. They keep a garden in the summer. I'm always learning stuff and asking questions. My work schedule can be busy since I don't have a set shift. It's partly why it's hard to go through my food stock. My kid will eat there sometimes depending on my shift and she makes me food too sometimes. If I'm afraid my schedule will make it hard to use something before it will go bad, I ask her if she can do something with it.

🤣😂 Reverse Tetris!! I kind of feel the same way about the S/S in the kitchen because that's where I put bits & bites that I don't want to waste, etc. so I'm always adding stuff in there. @@amiegamble1678

Hi Sheri. Good idea to double those baskets just to make it sturdier. Love it. Isn't that cool when we find things that we forgot we had. I love your editing style, it makes me smile with those funny pop ups. What's holding you back from moving by November? Wow what a difference 👏 much more organized now. Beautiful spreadsheet. 6 months worth of protein sounds good❤

Hi Bruno, thanks for positivity! I bought a car last year, and don't want to move to KC until I get it paid off, as well as building up some savings which got drained helping my girls with finishing college and moving. Meanwhile I've got to spend significant money on dental work, because there's always a challenge in adventure stories, right? That has to be the first priority in the next few months. 😭😭 We'll see how the Universe blesses me between now and November! I hope you have a terrific week ahead! ❤

@@betterlivingonabudget Sheri thank you so much for answering my question. I know it was invasive, but you can be 100% sure that I'll be praying 🙏and sending you very positive vibes from Brazil. You're an amazing person and I agree with all your priorities..one step at a time and you will receive blessings along the way. I'm rooting for you girl. Have a good night of sleep my friend and a blessed week ahead

lol! Your freezer is so full!! It’s a nice feeling to be stocked up! I love seeing what people have in there freezer! I’m not going to lie I had two chest freezers and I hated them I was always pulling stuff out to find things at the bottom. The baskets are such a great idea!
@betterlivingonabudget3 ай бұрын
I would love to have an upright freezer! It's on my goals list. I've heard that the chest freezers are better for keeping things cold if the power goes out, but ugh, the 'food invisibility', lol. 👀

Sheri, you're so sweet, wish you were my neighbor, I'd feed you cajun food all the time!!! 💖Your freezer organization is so inspirational!! I finally cleaned and organized mine and mentioned you and your inspiration in an upcoming video I'm posting later in the week. How do I include a picture of your channel info while I'm talking about you? Do I just take a screen shot, then upload the picture while editing the video? I still have so much to learn..🤓
@betterlivingonabudget3 ай бұрын
Awww, you're def my YT neighbor!!! 🥰 Thanks in advance for the upcoming shout-out! I can't wait to see your video! Those freezer inventories / organization efforts are serious cardio by the time its all said and done!!! I'm sure there's a more sophisticated way to capture thunbnails from other channels than my M.O., but I just snap a screenshot on my phone, edit it down to trim it to a screen-friendly size and save it to my phone. I use InShot as my free video editor on my old-school iPhone 11, and it lets me upload photos and insert them into videos. YT tutorials on Inshot are my friend for anything I want to attempt, lol. I've decided the YT learning curve is infinity-long, so just learn stuff when you have a little extra time/patience and roll with what you know in between. ;)

Thanks so much! Your right about the workout involved in the freezer inventory/clean out! Just uploaded week 10 and was able to include a shout out to whiskeywomanwhisk, by following your instructions.😍 It's not all fancy like yours but it's so nice to include a photo of who I'm referencing. Next, adding you to the inventory video and calling it a night, have a blessed day tomorrow!@@betterlivingonabudget

You sure don’t need to buy meat for at least a month! You need to use it up because it won’t last forever. Do you have power backup if you lose power?
@betterlivingonabudget3 ай бұрын
I'm definitely well-stocked for a solid six months, and feeling good about it. All the uncertainty in the world makes me dearly wish I were all ready settled in Kansas City with my family. I am planning to do a lot of canning of meats, garden produce and fruit from local orchards once I get there. Until then, I'm focusing on clearing out what I have. I don't have solar panels but I do have a generator which is sufficient for a week but hopefully I won't need it. 🙏🙏 Have a great weekend!
