I'm very new to 40k but fell in love with the Adeptus Mechanicus and their whole attitude and aesthetic immediately. this song makes me think of my little tech-priest oc climbing and crawling into the inner-parts of some giant machine to perform ritual repairs, perhaps deal with a particularly rambunctious machine spirit too, hence the sudden deep rumble-thrums and the chants of her fellow tech-priests outside down below to bring a semblance of stability.

Dunno what else to say but you fuckin' nailed the feel of a Mechanicus Temple or ritual. I can see a lone tech-priest walking down a hallway with servitors in tow, tending to some great and grand machine as it slowly awakens under the priests' care. Then at 1:49 when the roaring and rumbling stops and the machine's awakening finishes they just offer a quiet prayer to the Omnissiah before moving on. 10/10 work man. Hope to see more of this, something about it just speaks to my soul.

@@Archotechna Thanks for your reply! If I may ask: What do you use for your synth design and how did you learn synth design? My synth design is definitely not as good as yours.
@Archotechna8 ай бұрын
@@armageddon6847 I use lots of different synths. My main being Omnisphere, Vital, and Massive X. I've been doing this a long time so I've just gradually improved through practise and watching tutorials. Unfortunately the internet is super saturated with tutorials now so it can be hard to find good ones. Two ways I've found really good that have helped me learn is 1. Find a preset that you like the sound of and reverse engineer it. 2. Find a cool synth sound in a track you like (better if it's relatively isolated) and just fiddle around on a synth trying your best to match the sound. Also, when coming up with sounds to use in tracks I frequently start with a preset I like and just alter it until I'm happy with how it fits in the track. That's what I did for the bass in this track.

This song makes me think at the start its a great large piece of machinery being constructed in a manufatorum on a forge wolrd as its nearing the end of its construction around 1:00 we see that its a major piece for a god engine as its going through the final blessings and rites of construction then at 1:26 the piece is being lifted up and placed as the control center of the god engine and from there it is slowly being connected and constructed into it and once its done the tech Priests and Magos are finishing the ritual of awakening after the cockpit is brought online to see all of the panels light up and activate showing that the god engine is an Imperitor class

I was wondering a bit in regards to the creation of this song where do you usually get the resources and samples from and is there a favorite synth or plugins you use. that you think is interesting.
@Archotechna3 ай бұрын
Pretty much all the harmonic elements used in this track are virtual instruments. Notable instruments are the choirs from Metropolis Ark 2, the synths are made in Omnisphere (Undercurrent extension) and Massive X, and the organ is from Sonuscore - The Orchestra Complete 3. Lots of the percussive and sfx elements originate from samples or are designed in the synths mentioned previously. My favourite synth is probably Omnisphere as it comes with a lot of fx and audio samples for sound design so you can get pretty creative with it. I hope that helps!
@serd40633 ай бұрын

@@serd4063 Yes, I have them all 😅I'm a huge fan of Orchestral Tools products and definitely invested a lot in it years ago. If it's something you're interested in yourself I would highly recommend taking the approach of buying individual instruments as I find I don't use most of them. Ark 1 has amazing low strings and pretty good choirs too, I don't use too much more from it though.
@serd40633 ай бұрын
@@Archotechna Oh yeah recently I've gotten a headphone amp and better headphones and it actually elevated the music. The headphones were towards a wider soundstage so it elevates the choir and the drop that happened at 1:37 and there was a particular sound you could hear from 1 side to the other at like 1:50.

It really depends what your philosophy on AI is. In my opinion art producing AI wouldn't be qualified as AI in the 40k universe. It's not thinking for itself in any sentient way. But if you do believe it qualifies as AI then it is considered heretical to the Adeptus Mechanicus, and any dabbling with it is a death sentence. They refer to it as 'Abominable Intelligence'. Either way, I'd prefer to commission art from humans as I get deeper appreciation from it that way.
