What is your favorite part of the campaign?

Is this truly a campaign? Or just a series of scenarios stringed together? One scenario doesn’t effect the next does it?

I sold my initial all-in pledge because dark. They had me at "brighter tiles."

Yea I was excited to hear they had fixed that complaint. I know a lot of people were unhappy with the darkness.

They do. I am fairly confident that most will look great. They seem to have just played with light levels and some saturation on them.

I did all in for the last kickstarter, and personally I don't regret it. Played through almost all the scenarios several times with a number of different groups.

That is great to hear! Do you have a favorite Epic Monster or expansion?

@@criticalfail I liked the Rise of Dagon primarily because of the domain cards. I also like playing Meredith. For the Epic monster, we played with them sparingly because of how hard they could make it. For just overall theme I have to hand it to Nyarlathotep ... I mean the Drifter King.

@Elitistb616 - Thanks for your comment, I am really interested on your thoughts on replayability! :) You mentioned that you replayed the game with different groups, how would it be to replay the game with the SAME group? Since it's a marrative story co-op game would there be any detractions/negatives from playing the same scenario or would it be totally spoiled? Some CO-OP narratives you can reply with different outcomes is this also true for Deep Madness? Thx in advance!!!

@@aylonewolf69 For you, of course it would be spoiled if you've already been through it. I haven't had a chance to break it out in the past year an a half (Covid, and then other games to play), but I don't recall any narrative choices. There's a intro, you play the scenario, and then there is outro. For different groups it is mostly that different people employ different attempts at tactics, play different characters, etc. When I repeat play scenario games, I always take a back seat on later plays. I will give advice, but I let others lead and follow in their footsteps. My primary enjoyment at that point is seeing how they deal with it, will it go better than other attempts I've done, etc.

The one playthrough I caught so far did make the gameplay feel more actiony than I was hoping, sort of a zombicide feel. Though honestly between Tainted Grail and getting in on Oathsworn, I'm pretty done (and horror satisfied) for the month. Maybe I'll scan a bit more to see if it's entertaining, though.

There is a lot to play between those two! It definitely plays a bit like a crawler of sorts, but I to me it’s a bit heavier than Zombicide.

Thanks man, I have the core game and I really like it... the question is... taking the upgrade kit or the new box with the expansion? I'm not interested in an all in but maybe the investigator one plus the reborn expansion. I'm merging boxes... space needed but then is harder to take the game out

That is a hard call. The Profundum box has some pretty good organizers in it that might help.

Thanks for covering this one. I had been interested in this game but decided against it, but with the changes for the new edition I think I'm in, probably Investigator, if not then just Core. Adding scenario 0 to core and making tiles brighter are 2 changes I noticed. Any idea if expansions will be hard to pick up later?

I’ll be honest I don’t know too much about secondary market for individual items for DM. I know there was a healthy market for packages of expansions and core.

Did they upgrade the quality of the minis in this reprint? I saw that it is the case for the reborn expansion but what about the others? I'm a little sad because the lore and the game look so great, but minis don't look fine (at least for the 2 first editions) on the KS page minis from core box/other expansions don't look good according to me...

Sadly no updates to the core or expansion other than Reborn. Some of the original core and expansion minis are a little muddy in the details. I know priming them, even if you aren't going to paint them, tends to make the details pop more.

I don't believe so. They are getting ready to ship after CNY. There should be a few copies available on the aftermarket soon after that.

Critical, what's your take on Dawn? Neevr flip flipped on a game so much. I backed out during the campaign in 2019.. but as KOA says, the prices are the same and the all in is only 60 USD P and P to Hong Kong!

I am personally trying to find the money to late back Dawn of Madness. It plays completely different from DM and is way more story based. There are fewer characters and the miniatures are most unique with out many repeats. I'd say if you are looking for a trippy horror game with heavy narrative it should be good. I think for many it may be too much reading.

Cthulhu DMD has been my favorite game for like a year and this seems to be that, but better. More sinister more dark more horror and just MORE. I’m excited. Thank you!
