I wish they'd done a super extra mega deluxe version of "Perfect strangers" instead since it should be it's 40th anniversary in 2024. "Machine Head" has had several treatments like this over the years and I personally think it's time to lift the eyes to other Deep Purple albums especially the 80s and 90s stuff that seem almost forgotten these days...

You’re dead right Paul about the 5.1 mix ,strange that it wasn’t included in the package , I would have liked to see that included considering it has been made available before , otherwise it’s very good !

I wonder if anyone noticed that they used not original image of the front sleeve but a scan of an old vinyl sleeve WITH incompletely unstuck price sticker on it. It's just weird. This scan already used for recent vinyl reissues of the album as well. New stereo remix is awful. A lot of delays, reverbs, filters making sound of instruments unnatural. Sounds like badly produced modern record. Someone allowed a guy immensely to play with VST-plugins without any respect to the original album.

For this extraordinary album, the packaging is catastrophic. Moreover, putting vinyl with CDs is a serious mistake. The 40th anniversary was more interesting
