Hey guys! I decided to play this in the same position as Ritchie Blackmore did. The only difference is that I’m taking a Steve Morse approach to my fingering. Richie Blackmore barres his fingers on 2 strings. Sorry this isn’t 0-3-5 but of course there’s loads of tabs out there for that! Just wanted to throw my approach to the tune into the mix.

Nice! This is pretty close to the way I have played this for years.. especially through the solo, the position changes feel natural the way you are doing them. I have seen Blackmore play the main theme up on the 10th and 8th frets as well.. I would imagine it depends on his mood that night. Had a guy once point out you need to switch pickups to the bridge at bar 106 and I think there is a spot where the middle position is used too (some can never be pleased right?).. given enough time the guy likely would have complained about the lack of sag from my amp.. ;). Great job on a classic! Burn is another really good one from DP.
