Drums and 🪘 beats have been used world wide since the birth of mankind more than any other type of instrument because people have always known instinctively that there is something healing and spiritual about rhythmic beating sounds. The universe is energy which has a heartbeat and a pulse although we may not be able to hear it (yet) still it remains a beat... a rhythm. God, Great Spirit, OmniCreator... whatever you want to refer to it as, is inherently good and has a heartbeat. 💓 This is why beats have always been so appealing to everyone everywhere since the beginning of time for people. If this were not so, then drumming would not have a history of being used in every culture around the world and would be replaced with something like the flute which has also been used in many cultures over the centuries world wide but not all and not as much as simple drumming has. In order to make a flute something needs to be carved. In order to drum 🛢️ you just have to tap something even if it's with your foot, it's still a beat. I was the 1st chair drummer in my middle school and over my lifetime I have RARELY ever been sick. Coincidence? I think NOT. HAPPY DRUMMING! 🥁 Shout out to the other Led Zeppelin fans, John Bonham... BEST DRUMMER EVA! 👍🏼😎

Kudos due here. This is a wonderful example of ambient music that is true to what the genre was originally all about when it first began to emerge in the creative hands and minds of composing adventurers like Harold Budd and others in the 20th century. The first ambient compositions were conceived literally as experiments, exploring the possibilities of affecting human mood through minimalism... Using the simplest elements of musical composition: Washes of sound evoking moods, like "colors" in the mind; simple melodic fragments, and/or chords, that repeated in uncomplicated cycles, and with or without a drone background; slowly "evolving drones"; if rhythm was employed, it also tended to repeat in simple cycles that slowly evolved, and was often slowed down in speed such that it could naturally harmonize with the slower beating of a human heart at rest, or with the rhythmic patterned rise and fall of alpha or delta brainwaves -- physiological responses which are essential to naturally induced trance states. Most importantly, aside from initial choices made in elements like scale, pitch, rhythmic pattern and speed, affecting overall mood, nothing was employed which tended to co-opt, direct and control the listener's naturally relaxed flow of emotion and thought -- regardless of the content of that flow for any given listener. True ambient music, unlike other forms of music, doesn't seek to convey a particular substance of emotional content, nor does it attempt to paint a detailed picture in the mind, of an event, or of an emotional experience -- to tell a story. It is currently often referred to as "soundscaping," but in a very real and deeper way, it is actually "moodscaping." Mood is conveyed in ambient music through careful choice, ideally based in self-observation of the particular effects of interval, pitch and frequency, with attention also to the effects of the speed and patterning of any rhythms being employed. Really great ambient music is adaptable -- malleable within certain natural limitations imposed by choices made in rhythmic speed, and melodic pitch, frequency, interval and scale. If desired, it easily fades into the background of one's environment, enriching the listener's experience **as it is,** without any attempt to tell a story and thus manipulating the content of a listener's thoughts and feelings. Or, just as easily, if it is chosen as a point of focused awareness, it can calm the mind's activity and the body's physiological state, and slow down the flow of thought, such that the spaces between thoughts seems to lengthen... making it easier to naturally sink into deeper states of focus and meditation. Great ambient music instantly expands the sense of spaciousness in one's experience -- in a room, and in one's mind. The sense of one's centerpoint, the source-point, or "gateway" of one's consciousness, will immediately blossom into the experience of presence with the reality of spherical awareness. Perception of Time is altered, subsumed into momentary space. I'd say Landon Trimble and friends have succeeded in ticking off pretty much every box on the list above, with excellence. Their choice to work with moderately paced rhythms is bold, and handled with a sensitive touch in evidence; their careful, less is more approach to insertion of just two found sounds from nature with echo, generating a simple but effective sense of unlimited space and distance within the drone of the didgerees... Every choice shows a mastery of the ambient genre.
